Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Who will teach the children? Men in make-up!

Prepare the commitment orders!

‘He began referring to himself as a traditional conservative’

Maybe Men in Make-up is ‘how he got this way’

We begin today’s episode with the bracing news that Oberlin College in far-off Ohio was hit with a $11.2 million verdict on Friday after its students and faculty falsely accused a downtown bakery of engaging in racial profiling.

According to The Daily Caller:

The lawsuit stemmed from a 2016 incident involving three black Oberlin students who claimed they were victims of racial profiling [at the family-owned and operated Gibson’s Bakery] even though one was caught openly shoplifting and trying to use a fake ID to buy alcohol.

When Allyn Gibson followed the student out of the store and confronted him, “the two got into a physical altercation.” When the two other students joined in, police said all three were hitting Gibson, who was on the ground. All three students pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges and denied that Allyn’s actions were racially motivated in August 2017.

After the incident, however, Oberlin College faculty and students engaged in a series of protests against the bakery, urged people to boycott, and [the dean of students] made a flyer accusing the store of regularly racial profiling its customers.

Teaching gender (never mind spelling)

No doubt those terribly woke Oberlin kids meant well, just lynched the wrong racists. Guessing they can buy the New York Times at the campus bookstore for solace, righteous indignation, fresh grievances, and tactical training. Gawd how that newspaper pushes its liberal agenda! Story selection and emphasis are two of the most effective tools in the propagandist’s trade. Let us count the ways in just one day’s fish wrap:

1. The Travel section (of all places) suggest stay the hell home. That thing about not leaving a carbon footprint in order to forestall the coming ice age/burning planet, flooding of Biblical proportions if the desert doesn’t take over.

2. Trump-hating columnist (there is a redundancy) Michelle Goldberg demands America “Leave drag queen story hour alone!”

“Kids in cages are a bigger threat to family values than men in makeup,” she bleats.

Who will teach the children? Men in make-up!

3. O.K., that’s an opinion piece — but you won’t find an opposing view; not in the New York Times. Sure enough, one of the feature articles in the Sunday magazine, “Neither/Nor: The struggles of rejecting the gender binary in a world that wants to box everyone in.” Pull-out quote in large type: “We’re all born nonbinary. We learn gender.”

4. Interview with late-night Trump critic Stephen Colbert. Softball question posed by the Times: “That thing about not wanting to let Trump get away with a lie — is it fair to say that you feel a moral imperative behind your work?”

More than fair to say. Obvious. Later Colbert talks about his monologue criticizing Alabama’s strictures on abortion. Now THERE is a moral imperative!

Due process? At a university?!

5. A full page celebrating student activism, spurred by the restoration of those damnable due process rights!

Campus activism has … intensified in the wake of the confirmation hearing for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and the Trump administration’s redrafting of federal Title IX guidelines on sexual assault, which would give more due process rights to the accused.

One trophy pelt was a Harvard faculty member who had agreed to represent Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, accused of multiple sexual assaults.

After a “climate review” of the dormitory, Harvard did not renew Mr. Sullivan’s post as faculty dean, which he had held for 10 years. He also stepped down as Mr. Weinstein’s lawyer.

New York Times
Notice something? One of the kooks who polluted young Cain’s mind was the late University of Chicago economist Milton Friedman (lower center right)

‘How did you get this way?’

6. Page One feature story: a young man repents of his identification (however temporary) with conservatism. The Times chronicles young Caleb Cain’s descent into madness:

He began referring to himself as a ‘tradcon’ — a traditional conservative, committed to old-fashioned gender norms. He dated an evangelical Christian woman and he fought with his liberal friends. “It was kind of sad,” said Zelda Wait, a friend of Mr. Cain’s from high school. “I was just like; ‘Wow, what happened? How did you get this way.”

Over a spread of 2+ full pages, the NY Times chronicles young Cain’s brainwashing. Through exhaustive research, the newspaper of record traces his disorder to nefarious algorithms emanating from the on-line social media site, YouTube.

One day in late 2014, YouTube recommended a self-help video by Stefan Molyneaux … a men’s rights advocate who said feminism was a form of socialism and that progressive gender politics were holding young men back. He offered conservative commentary on pop culture and current events. …

Over time, he watched dozens of clips by Steven Crowder, a conservative comedian … To Mr. Cain, all of this felt like forbidden knowledge.”

Which, if the New York Times had its way, would be exactly that. FORBIDDEN! And that was Blaska’s Bottom Line!

Here’s a spot-on parody put up today (06-10-19) by the inimitable Babylon Bee:

How come when comes to right wing nuts, it’s “defending freedom of speech,” but when it comes to left wing nuts…it’s left wing nuts. The right’s fealty to the Constitution is situational. Big surprise.

Because the left is always trying to shut the right-wing nuts up, rather than challenge them. The right wing is perfectly happy to have the leftists speak up so that we can criticize, mock and refute their flawed arguments. With the lef,t it’s always “Shut up!” he explained.

Of course you are. I don’t really identify with drag queens myself. But I was referring to YouTube and it’s efforts to reduce right wing hate videos.

Hate is as hate does, ABob.
Justice Kavanaugh could instruct you on how that feels.

Leave it to @AnonyBob to be looking for hate in ALL the wrong places.

Per the Southern Poverty Law Center (the GO TO arbiter of hate) “hate list,” black nationalists were (and are!) also the biggest growing segment of hate groups from 2005-2015. So both long-term and in the past few years, the Black Hate Groups have been the biggest gainers.

Perhaps YouTube should limit those FAKE hate (Jussie) & REAL hate (Black Hebrew Israelites, Farrakhan, Ilhan Omar Demented-MN), & Rashida Tlaib (Delusional-MI) videos.

Ah Lefty; so MUCH staggeringly shameful self-humiliation, so little time!

Oh, those poor white nationalists. Nobody’s fair to them.
Hate is as hate does? Maybe you should check with Christine Blasey Ford about how that feels.
The only hate I’m seeing is being directed at men volunteering their time being kind to children. And no, drag queens are not pedophiles.

Christine Ballsy Ford deserves hate if anyone does. All of it. She earned it by bearing false witness, obvious and repeated lies, and destruction of a good man’s name reputation and family. She is an evil woman who you witlessly support because political power.

Hmmm, what ELSE do those two towns have in common?

These school age miscreants get the idea that attacking others, destroying property, and other feral behavior is acceptable from…gosh…I just can’t put my finger on it.

Another dog’s breakfast has been served…. Excerpt:

State of Oregon House Bill 2939, which passed in 2011 and was amended in 2013, says a teacher can only physically restrain a student when there is a threat of imminent serious bodily injury to someone.

“Anything else – cussing, swearing, throwing things, spitting – that’s not imminent physical danger but they’re clearly disrupting,” said Clem. “It’s an absurd interpretation of the law, probably, but whatever, WE’LL FIX IT.”

Boys, have you ever known a drag queen? (Course not, silly question.) They love being dramatic. They love costumes. They love being flamboyant. Any sexuality invoked with their shtick goes completely by little kids. So of course they’d be great at reading books and dramatizing stories to little kids.

Legacy media, print and cable, is in deep trouble. Viewership continues to decline and Gen Z barley knows they exist. Independent online media is laying waste to legacy media. This is causing freakouts on multiple fronts.

Journalists are upset they are losing their traditional gate keeping and narrative framing rolls. They are also watching their entire industry, and career potential, go down in flames. This while digesting the bitter pill that their public esteem is somewhat below that of truck stop hookers.

Legacy media organizations are desperate to stop the hemorrhaging. They know their model is teetering on the verge of irrelevance. They cannot figure out how to compete with the multitude of online content producers that engage directly with their readers and viewers. Traditional media relied on restricted bandwidth to feed consumers homogenized information goo. Now that consumers are free to choose, they no longer have a captive audience.

The people who rely on traditional media to hustle their products and frame the world view of the citizenry are likewise concerned. It’s much easier to market to a single monolithic group than multiple divergent groups. This is true whether you’re selling popsicles or political ideology. If you can control the avenues of distribution people may not even realize they have options outside the ones you present them.

Combine the above with the fact these organizations are entirely dominated by leftists who believe anyone to the right of The Shining Path are literally fascists, and you get what we’re seeing today. Legacy media is attempting to either capture or destroy their online competition. The journalist class are natural allies in this, as they want to maintain control of information for both financial and ideological reasons. All of this of course benefits the political and corporate elites who greatly prefer a docile population of happy consumers.

In short, we’re simply seeing a bunch people who’ve been running things for a long time trying to maintain control.

All they had in inventory was credibility. They sold this to become Obama’s hagiographers and Trump witch hunters. The Left has done to journalism what they did to education, environmental stewardship, the charitable foundations, pop culture and the rest of the media. Sic semper tyrannis.
