Cheatham’s Cheatheads blame racist teachers for ‘rotten year’

Teachers called out for their participation
in white supremacy culture
in an action-oriented way

Kids roaming the halls aimlessly, F-bombing their teachers when they’re not physically accosting them. Illiterate, arrogant, and headed for prison.

Dylan Brogan ripped the bandage off Jennifer Cheatham’s failed superintendency in his Isthmus cover story, “A Rotten Year.”

“If I wrote up students for swearing that’s all I would do,” one Madison public school teacher told the reporter.

Cheer up, Jen, as you pack for the ivy halls of Harvard University, where you will replicate your failure by training a thousand new Cheathams to doom new generations. You leave behind a cadre of guilty white acolytes  in the school system you helped destroy, ready to play the race card rather than teach.

They call themselves “Educators Actively Working Toward Anti-Racism.” As described by the far-Left journalism enterprise Madison 365, they are “a group of mostly white teachers in Madison working toward greater equity.”

“It’s Not the Students That Made the Year Rotten,” they write, collectively (one presumes) to contradict Brogan. It’s racist teachers, excluding themselves.

In response to the Isthmus article “A Rotten Year,” our students of color are not the reason why our schools are rotting, it is white supremacy culture. This year was rotten, but not for lack of excellence in our schools; this year was rotten because a long dormant undercurrent of white supremacy broke through our defenses this year, flooding our communities with fear and distrust. If it felt like a rotten year for teachers, it is because teachers are finally being called out on their covert and overt participation in white supremacy culture.

Flooding the zone with idiotic hyperbole

LavaWhat vivid imagery. The rottenness, long concealed, broke through enemy defenses like Jim Taylor shedding tacklers on Lambeau Field. (RIP, Bart Starr.) Like General Patton through the Wehrmacht’s Siegfried line. Like magma from a long-dormant Mt. Vesuvius, causing the heathens to cry out to Jupiter and Vulcan before perishing.

Teachers are finally being CALLED OUT! By the likes of Bianca Gomez and M. Adams, by Brandi Grayson and Ali Muldrow. Like Saddam Hussein having the traitors in his audience hustled out of the auditorium, never to be seen again.

“I would like permission to discriminate against students of color so I can do my job.” That is Muldrow mocking the typical Madison Metro school teacher.

Dylan Brogan, you are doing Satan’s work, say the Actively Working Educators. “[Your] article is both detrimental to our community and not providing any solutions,” the clandestine teachers against rampant racism proclaim. “We need to move forward in an action-oriented way with anti-racism at the forefront of our practices … and decenter whiteness …

Now THERE’s a solution! Move forward — in an action-oriented way — ”with anti-racism practices.” AKA: Cheatham’s Behavior Education Plan!

Quick, more ‘Equity’!

Some of us maintain that learning to read and write will go a long ways toward combatting racism. It starts with “Get in here, kid. And do it NOW!”

Discipline is Lesson . Learning discipline will get you some learning, followed by a job and, perchance, stay out of the hoosegow. If you could get the kids to attend class and actually, you know, listen to their teachers. In an action-oriented sort of way. But then, we are not Jennifer Cheatheads, so what do we know?

But 60% of African-American kids reading below basic proficiency does NOT sound like “equity.” But then, we are not Jennifer Cheatheads, so what do we know?

Madison 365 says it did not name individual members of this underground group of heroes, “because they have received threats in the past.” No doubt from the Madison Teachers Inc. chapter of the KKK, in an  action-oriented way.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: You want “threatened?” Attend a school board meeting and speak up for police in our troubled schools, you cowards.

For extra credit: While perusing Madison 365 we came across their take on one of our most excellent Blogges: “Blaska Mocks Restorative Justice, School-to-Prison Pipeline.” The piece got 530 likes. What does that say?! (Seriously, I don’t know. What does it say?)

It’s telling that our host’s words were described as “mocking” by the folks at Madison 365. It’s typical of arrogant, self-righteous lefties to characterize any voice of dissent, not matter how reasonable, as a personal attack (or hate speech), thereby shutting down any possibility of meaningful dialogue. Over the weekend I saw a news report of a riot at a high school in Stockton, CA that was precipitated by an attack on a staff member by a student. When the police were called, they were met by about 80 students who threw garbage cans at them and attempted to prevent an officer from detaining the student who had caused the initial disturbance. Several other officers were struck by students. The school was put on lockdown. (I wonder what kind of restorative justice plan is in place there?) Anyone who thinks this sort of thing can’t happen in Madison schools must have drunk an extra dose of Cheatham’s kool-aid.

  2. Here’s my comments about the Abolitionist Teachers: It’s Not the Students That Made the Year Rotten article mentioned above. I had to post these comments in multiple comment segments today on the Isthmus article A rotten year.

The author of this “Abolitionist Teachers: It’s Not the Students That Made the Year Rotten” piece of work presented lots of little self-incriminating tidbits of their own white supremacy guilt without providing any supporting evidence that white supremacy exists in the others they accuse

“…our students of color are not the reason why our schools are rotting, it is white supremacy culture.”

FALSE! There’s not a “white supremacy culture” there are unsupportable accusations of a “white supremacy culture”. When are these idiots going to stop presenting accusations as fact and understand that just because an accusation has been lodged does not mean that the accusation is true or fact. If the author(s) thinks that they themself have a white supremacist problem then they should get help for their own personal problem and stop trying to psychologically project their own character and moral failings upon everyone else. Just because YOU [directed at the author(s)] are white supremacists doesn’t mean everyone else that’s white is also a white supremacist.

Also, to my knowledge, no one is actually stating that students of color are THE reason the schools are rotting. I think it’s been pretty clear that it’s the problem behaviors, a complete lack of respect from some students, and idiotic policies that appear to literally enable those bad behaviors that’s rotting the educational environment in the Madison schools. What part of THAT do you irrational activists not understand?

Now why do I say the policies appear to be enabling the problem behaviors? Logic dictates that observing the problem behaviors getting worse, NOT better, since the policy was enacted, it’s natural to come to a cause and effect conclusion since the policy was specifically put in place to improve behaviors. The policy has failed miserably. Only stupid people continue to do the same things and expect different results.

“this year was rotten because a long dormant undercurrent of white supremacy broke through our defenses this year, flooding our communities with fear and distrust.”

FALSE! There isn’t a shred of evidence to support this ridiculous claim. These kind of claims need to be supported by verifiable facts that show a clear pattern of TOLERATED racist actions of white people towards non-white people from teachers and other staff at Madison schools and that proof simply doesn’t exist. What does exist is verifiable evidence of student behavior problems within our schools, and elsewhere, that shows the cultural underbelly of absolute disrespect from problem students in Madison towards any kind of authority and these problem behaviors appear to be enabled by a behavior modification policy that is enabling the problem instead of correcting the problem.

“If it felt like a rotten year for teachers, it is because teachers are finally being called out on their covert and overt participation in white supremacy culture.”

FALSE! It was a rotten year because problem behaviors appear to be getting worse and students and irrational activists are falsely accusing teachers of racism when racism and white supremacy doesn’t exist. The accusers are not only wrong, their immoral!

“This was a year characterized by personal failings, not faulty district policy”

If you’re talking about the personal failings of students with behavior problems then I agree. If you can’t see the problems with an active behavior modification policy that has shown that it’s NOT correcting the very behavior problems that the policy was put in place to correct and instead it’s enabling the problem behaviors then you’re being intentionally obtuse.

“Instead of blaming students and their behaviors”

You’ve got to be friggin kidding! YES, we blame students for their problem behaviors anything else is unethical rationalizations, encourages the problem behaviors, and is absolutely unacceptable. The students are 100% responsible for their own actions and anyone that thinks otherwise is a very special kind of stupid!

“we need to think about what we are doing to rebuild the trust that has been broken between our mostly white school staff and our many students and families of color.”

Trust HAS been broken, on this point we are in agreement. Where we clearly disagree is the source of that broken trust. Teachers are NOT the source of broken trust, the administration, the ineffective policies, the students with problem behaviors, and fellow teachers (like the idiot that wrote the Abolitionist Teachers: It’s Not the Students That Made the Year Rotten article) that want to place blame on people that have not earned and do not deserve the blame.

Most teachers simply want to teach students but guilt ridden white supremacist teachers, like the idiot that wrote the Abolitionist Teachers: It’s Not the Students That Made the Year Rotten article, falsely accusing their co-workers of white supremacy are destroying any possibility of actually working together to solve problems.

That was just the first paragraph. Now, just for fun, I’ll continue to address other problem in the article.

“Instead of centering ourselves, our focus should be on how rotten this year was for our Black students who were personally traumatized by racism.”

Racism, what racism? Snowflakes snowflaking hard haven’t earned any attention other than open ridicule when their claims of being personally traumatized by racism are not supported by facts. Students and irrational social justice warriors are so damned focused on blaming racism for their own behavior problems that they’ll manufacture racism out of the blue with absolutely ridiculous things like being a responsible homeowner that cuts their grass is a racist or a teacher that tells a child to put their phone away is a racist. These people are either idiots, or they’re brainwashed, or they’re detached from reality, or they’re liars trying to rationalize their behavior; there really are no other reasonable explanations.

“How rotten it was and has been for their sense of self”

Stop pandering to snowflakes! Give them all another participation trophy if you think that’ll help.

“It is our duty as educators to decenter whiteness to ensure that all students feel a sense of belonging and mattering within our schools.”

No one is making “whiteness” the center except for activist, like the author of the article, and black people that are appearing to be the same kind of racists that they claim to be against. If ignorant students and brainwashed activists would get off their social justice warrior high horse and start dealing with the reality that’s staring them in the face we could achieve the solutions and the educated students we all want. All this nonsense racist baiting is constructing barriers to progress.

“As Dr. Maisha Winn says in Justice on Both Sides, “That is, to practice restorative justice, one must not only be committed to seeing the full humanity of others but also be open to the possibility of not always being right but instead making things right.”

Here’s a note to the author(s) of the Abolitionist Teachers: It’s Not the Students That Made the Year Rotten article, this is a two way street! How about you and your fellow activists take Dr. Maisha’s advice and see the full humanity of those you are falsely accusing of racism and stop projecting your own white supremacy personal problems on others, what you are doing is wrong! Also; how about you instruct the students the behavior problem students to see the humanity and respect teachers and other authoritative figures in our community, what they have been doing is wrong!

“Teaching is an adaptive profession. Schools need to adapt in an ongoing way to meet the needs of our students.”

Who knew? Thanks for those Mr Obvious comments, Einstein.

“If we are venting at the expense of students, then this article is both detrimental to our community and not providing any solutions.”

You have to identify the actual problem before you can come up with solutions that will work. Treating students with problem behaviors using an ignorant behavior policy isn’t good for the students or the faculty.

“We need to move forward in an action-oriented way with anti-racism at the forefront of our practices.”

Anti-racism? I’m anti racism; I’m also anti-boneheaded stupidity. You people, social justice warriors, see racism in all things even where it simply doesn’t exist. Irrational social justice warriors are so damned focused on digging up racism that they’ll manufacture it out of the blue with things like being a responsible homeowner that cuts their grass.

      @Steve Witherspoon;

      GREAT post!

      Blaska: “What does it say?”

Your “likes” would have been 554 had they not required FacePlant participation to register.

Anywho, what I believe it says?

Those ostensibly Righty likes (@a FAR Lefty site) AND the overwhelming majority of the ~ 100 comments posted to Brogan’s A Rotten Year piece (@ANOTHER FAR Lefty site) being harshly critical of the Cheatham approach indicate a Silent Demographic astir in the 77 Square Miles Surrounded By A Sea Of Reality.

Even though that demographic may not be All In Righty, it has enough intellectual wherewithal to see what’s been tried hasn’t been working AND that the MMSD appears headed (with Muldrow calling White Madison teachers RACISTS) in the same Highway To Hell direction undeterred.

Glass half full? Could be we’re seeing a cosmic shift in Attitude.

      Wouldn’t THAT be something!!

    2. Found the following statement at the bottom of the Abolitionist Teachers: It’s Not the Students That Made the Year Rotten article…

Educators Actively Working Toward Anti-racism is a group of mostly white teachers in Madison working toward greater equity. We are not naming individual members because they have received threats in the past.

I don’t believe that the article was the collective thoughts of a group of college graduate professional teachers, someone is trying to pull the wool over everyone eyes! The article appears to me to be written by someone that leans heavy towards anti-white racism so they can rationalize away individual responsibility of behavior problem ridden non-white students. They’ll have to prove their claim to me.

      I’ll end with this note;
Problem behavior ridden students are not only non-white students. The bad behavior and utter contempt for authority are coming from students of all races which defeats the core of the authors ridiculous white supremacy argument as being the problem. Adolescents having an absolute lack of respect for authority is completely unacceptable behavior; parents fix your disrespectful children!

        Not a freakin’ chance!

Freedom Inc. and cohort’s business model is based upon naïve Leftys lapping up the guilt/grievance narrative forcefully promulgated by grifting race hustlers. For these folks it’s a living and often a good one. This strategy erodes collective black self confidence, discipline, and positive can-do mindset but is dependent upon historically ignorant Leftys buying into the grift thereby creating a common alliance.

For these virtuous woke Leftys, the psychological payoff is assuaging the assumed guilt for ancestors who share a similar skin color along with acceptance into the group-think herd. The concept of personal responsibility is not allowed into the herd and broaching the subject is considered an act of racism.

OMG………as a therapeutic footnote, I’ll suggest a remedy. Destroy white racism with a field trip to Nigeria or the Congo. Allow everyone to bask in the racial harmony and multicultural tribal love culture that permeates non-white nations. Allow everyone to enjoy the apotheosis of civilization, possible only because Euro-culture has been vaporized. Enjoy spring-clean tap water, UN-adulterated by Euro-Ice.

suggestion for new Superintendent…..extend an offer to Robert Mugabe.

The lesson Madison is teaching these kids is that there are no consequences for bad behavior. You know how that’s gonna turn out.
‘Dear wild youth, if you steal a car and hit a tree you’ll learn blunt force trauma. If you carry a gun you’ll learn what a gunshot wound feels like. If you disrupt class you’ll learn what expulsion means.
Oh wait. Since we can’t teach the last one they WILL learn the first two.’

Oh, the difference a YEAR (03/26/2018) makes!

To wit: Jenny From The (CELL) Block–Letting Small Stuff Slide May Work Against Good Behavior In Schools

    Ya think?

Quoth she: “You’ve got a small group of students who are repeatedly getting into trouble, and we want to hold high expectations for them (right away), that you cannot behave that way in school.”

    How’s that been working?

    It gets worse.

MMSD board member Kate Toews: “THE MESSAGE THAT WE ARE HEARING AND SEEING IN OUR SCHOOLS IS THAT THE LEVEL OF DISRUPTION IN OUR CLASSROOMS IS UNACCEPTABLE […] We need to own up to that and talk about what we do next.” (bolds/caps mine)

Chinese Slave Labor Advocate/TREK Heiress/MMSD board President Mary Burke: “THIS IS A CRISIS SITUATION, that either we are going to take the tough steps — and yes, they may not please everyone — but we can’t continue to have this […] This is a learning environment for all of our students. It’s the reputation of our district, and it’s pulling away not only resources, but it’s pulling away valuable learning time. IF THESE STATISTICS…DON’T GET OUT ATTENTION, I DON’T KNOW WHAT WE’RE WAITING FOR.” (bolds/caps mine)

Welp White Lefty Guilt-inundated Madison Lefties, 14 months have come-n-gone; has it:

I think Kate and Mary were tardy on the their way to the party. Better for the city had they figured some of this out weeks, if not years ago. Better had they not felt either fearful or ideologically obligated to cave in timidly before the social justice warriors. There’s a word for this, actually several, but in the spirit of Blaska’s editorial preferences we are discouraged from using them.
