Paul Krugman teaches economic illiteracy

How many times do the Trump haters get to be wrong
and still get paid (or invited on CNN)?

If Mark Zuckerberg is going to ban anyone he should delete the paid advertisement that comes across our Facebook feed here at the Policy Werkes: “Paul Krugman teaches economics.”

The man shouldn’t teach school recess. This New York Times columnist is a clock with no hands; he’s not even right twice a day. Your average on-line palm reader is more clairvoyant.

Stand aside, Hillary Clinton. Donald Trump is living rent-free in Paul Krugman’s head, so blinded is his hatred.

often wrong paul krugman
Right there should have been the B.S. warning signal: The financial markets will “never” recover. NEVER?

Krugman, Nobel-winning economist, got Donald Trump very wrong in what is supposed to be the columnist’s wheelhouse: economics. In October 2016, a month before the presidential election, Krugman peered into his economic crystal ball and saw this static:

“If the unlikely event happens and Trump wins, you will see a market crash of historic proportions, I think. … (The markets) are terrified of him.”

After the voters had decided, Krugman doubled down.

“So we are very probably looking at a global recession, with no end in sight. I suppose we could get lucky somehow. But on economics, as on everything else, a terrible thing has just happened.”

So records Charles Gasparino in the NY Post in “Experts predicted economic Armageddon under Trump — where are they now?” (H/T Ann of Althouse)

Some economic recession!

To refresh our memories, the stock market took off like a sky rocket immediately after the election.

The market, as measured Friday (05-04-19) by Morningstar’s broad U.S. market index, has returned a hearty 14.95% over the last three years, 17.08% as measured by the Dow Jones industrial average.

The economic numbers released Friday show the U.S. economy added 263,000 jobs in April, while the unemployment rate dropped from 3.8% to 3,6% — the lowest since December 1969. Average hourly wage growth rose 3.2% on an annual basis.

Forbes observes that Household debt of equivalent income was over 144% 10 years ago and is now at 99%, according to Federal Reserve data.

Voodoo punditry

Krugman is no economist (here he is calling for a housing bubble several years before the collapse of 2008-09); he is the rankest partisan. Give him his bucket of Kentucky Fried. A sampler of his recent columns:

  • “Survival of the Wrongest; Evidence has a well-known liberal bias” (written apparently without irony or self-awareness)
  • “The Great Republican Abdication; a party that no longer believes in American values”
  • “Republicans Are the Real Extremists; Conspiracy theorists and enemies of democracy”
  • “The incredible shrinking Trump boom” (this on 3-30-19!) and his pièce de résistance:
  • “Donald Trump Is Trying to Kill You.”

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Just remember that when our friends at The Capital Times quote Krugman as if he were Paul writing to the Ephesians. BTW: Was that James Clapper we saw last night (05-04-19) on Anderson Cooper? Yes it was! Some intelligence chief!

From John Nolte about Chris Hayes conspiracy theory about the economy:

    Come close. Hear some truth.

This is how it happened, y’all…

When Obama was president, when Barry the Democrat was president, when a BLACK! man was president, millions and millions and millions of businesses got together, using Skype or something, and colluded to keep the economy down.

What I’m saying is this… Obama’s failed economy had nothing to do with the burdens of Obamacare or all those regulations or him always running around threatening to raise taxes. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. It was a plot. A conspiracy. And after the Republican won, these very same business owners reconvened around a giant table, like the table SPECTRE uses, but bigger cuz there are millions of them, and said, Okay, now we hire! And then, they all sat around and laughed maniacally, like Dr. Evil as fluoride poured into the drinking water.

Krugman reminds me of the legion of (false) prophets of Climate Change proclaiming their visions of impending doom and disaster. Anything that doesn’t conform to their world view–be it politics, economics, or science–must inevitably lead to the end of the world–the very definition of an apocalyptic cult.

It’s highly likely that neither you nor your thinkalike @AnonyBob have the necessary mental dexterity to understand this, due in large part to a shared obliviousness to a fact-based reality, but here goes.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, posted any pictures of where you LIVE, (apparently a 200 sf apartment). Refute that or STFU!

There were pictures posted of where you LIVED, “past tense;” do you understand the difference?

          Didn’t think so.

Anywho, hoping (but not hopeful) that you wouldn’t legitimately act like a whiny little pi$$ant, BOTH @Zoltar Speaks! AND The Gotch posted numerous pictures of places they both LIVED, “past tense;” quid pro quo, and then some.

Now waddle back and atone with an appropriately groveling and contrite apology for your unconscionable assault on intelligence of those inhabiting a fact-based Universe!

That’s been discussed every time you two twits bring it up with your deflections and your mosquito sized brains just can’t seem to comprehend the facts. Here’s the fact that you and the twit-brained troll ignore; I was 100% positive that I was NOT posting photos of where Richard currently lived (in fact I posted absolutely no photos of any buildings) or I wouldn’t have posted it, that’s a fact and I stated that fact a long, long time ago.

Below is a photo of a home that I’m absolutely positive you don’t live in, by yours and Richards ignoramus standards, I’m stalking you? You’re both idiot trolls.

One thing for sure, polar bears are not in imminent danger of disappearing due to the effects of global warming. For more info, check out the website “Polar Bear Science” by Susan Crockford, zoologist, expert on the Holocene history of Arctic animals, and professor at the University of Victoria, BC (i.e., a card-carrying scientist). And the 50 percent of Americans who own stock have particularly benefited. The lot of others have likewise improved by having the best jobless rate in 50 years. God bless America!

  8. Paul Krugman appears to be following the Principles of Progressive Goebbelism very closely.

    The core principles are:
    1. If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it.

    2. If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.

    3. If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.

    4. If you repeat a lie long enough, it becomes truth.

    5. If you repeat a lie many times, people are bound to start believing it.

This is similar to the unethical false claims that AnonyBob and Richard Lesiak drag conversation with their false deflections accusing others of stalking and false ad hominems when they don’t have anything intelligent to say about the topic at hand or the comment they are replying to – this is what internet trolls do.
