Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Madison police go rogue

Madison police union comes out with its hands up

are they really that naive?

That was a shocker. The labor union representing Madison’s beat cops is endorsing Satya Rhodes-Conway over Paul Soglin for mayor. Soglin has given police more bodies, more equipment, and a new Mid-Town police station. Paul Soglin has done everything but mount the bully pulpit and defend them from accusations of institutional racism.

Satya won’t do that, either. But she will do more harm to policing. Rhodes-Conway is Progressive Dane — Madame Brenda Konkel’s outfit, which is reflexively anti-cop.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Yeah, Mayor Paul is in trouble. Both newspapers have gone Satya’s way. So have the teachers’ union.

Madison police defender Paula Fitzsimmons notes that Satya is big on second-guessing beat cops who often have mere seconds to react to situations bureaucrats take months to criticize. By contrast, Rhodes-Conway favors:

  • Establishing an independent police auditor’s office reporting to a civilian police review body.
  • Involving the public in the process of selecting and evaluation of the Chief and top leadership. Yep, Madison is going to pick the captains, maybe even the lieutenants.
  • Require officers to complete a daily activity log
  • Still more restorative justice!

Yet, the Madison Professional Police Officers Assn, in its own press release, states:

We strongly believe in the efficacy of Wisconsin’s current Police and Fire Commission statute and firmly oppose any move that would subject our members to inappropriate political influence or misjudgment by passion alone; the PFC is a respected institution of independent accountability which needs no replacement.

Are there no detectives among MPPOA’s membership? Did they do no investigation or did they merely swallow Rhodes-Conway’s endorsement interview whole?

The police union wants more cops. “Our membership has not been able to fully address core public safety issues in our community … [because] we lack the resources to do so.”

Are they aware that Satya Rhodes-Conway is on record opposing more cops?

“Rhodes-Conway said the department doesn’t need more sworn personnel and wants to explore ways to address non-crime calls without sending officers and channel more resources to addressing mental health and drug addiction.”Wisconsin State Journal

The cops union also wants body cameras. Are they aware that Satya’s treasurer is Ald. Rebecca Kemble, an opponent of body cameras?

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Madison police have succumbed to Stockholm Syndrome. Looking like things will have to get worse before they get better.

Your bottom line is what I was going to comment on Paula’s blog post. They have Stockholm Syndrome. Sad.

How? When I vote they scrutinize everyone and the feeling is I have to prove I live where I do even though I have been registered to vote at this address for the last 15 years. It is very strict at our polling location.

How is it at other people’s polling places? Ours is very uncomfortable being there because of how the poll workers (most senior citizens) make you feel. @richard lesiak – I don’t think you’d count me as a friend if you knew that I was very liberal for about half of the 15 years I have lived at this address. But now I am going back to my roots and how I was brought up – am pretty darn conservative now. 🙂

What kind of inside help? Poll workers must follow procedures. It makes no difference how many years you lived at your address, how old you are, etc. Every person gets looked at. Period. If the poll workers make you nervous; vote early or absentee. Your going down a rabbit hole batdung and I’m calling BS. Maybe it was all those repuks being bussed in from Iowa that helped walker win. “Maybe it was all those repuks being bussed in from Iowa that helped walker win.”

          Not exactly.

          (bolds/caps mine throughout)
Formerly employed Lefty Scottie Foval: “It’s a very easy thing for Republicans to say they’re busing people in. Well you know what? We’ve been busing people in to deal with you f**kin’ assholes for fifty years and WE’RE NOT GOING TO STOP NOW. WE’RE JUST GOING TO FIND A DIFFERENT WAY TO DO IT.

“I think backwards from how they would prosecute if they could, and then try to build out the method to avoid that,” (Foval) says about organizing voter fraud by bringing people from state to state to vote illegally. “Let’s just say, in theory, if a major investigation came up of major vote fraud that way, how would they prove it? And who would they charge? Are they going to charge each individual with voter fraud? Or are they going to go after the facilitator for conspiracy, which they could prove? It’s one thing if all these people drive up in their personal cars. If there’s a bus involved, that changes the dynamic… You can prove conspiracy if there’s a bus, but if there are cars, it is much harder to prove.”

Oh my; taken out of context?

          It gets worse.

“Scott Foval and Robert Creamer, two little-known but influential Democratic political operatives, have left their JOBS after video investigations by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas Action found Foval entertaining dark notions about how to win elections. Foval was laid off Monday by Americans United for Change, where he had been national field director; Creamer announced Tuesday night that he was ‘stepping back’ from the work he was doing for the unified Democratic campaign for Hillary Clinton.”

Unemployment was no stranger to the horrendous Hopey Changey joke-of-an-economy, but this?

          And worse yet.

Lefty miscreant Bobby Creamer was a WH guest over 340 times (close to every ~ 10 days Hopey Changey was in office), 47 (~ once every 2 months) of those with a personal audience with the self-anointed 4th Greatest President EVAH who was tasked with overseeing the Most Transparent Administration EVAH!

Sometimes this stuff just kinda writes itself, am I right?

And the WH logs of Bobby’s up-close-n-personal visits TO the WH AND with Hopey Changey are a matter of record; were those falsified too?

Then explain how these two poor misrepresented souls were summarily $#!t-canned by their Lefty employers.

In short; hyphenated dingbat would make catering to the garbage of society a cornerstone of policing in Madison, add a bunch of new programs to ensure their satisfaction and comfort, and put the rest of us on the hook paying for it. There is truly nothing I loathe more than suburban lefties who’ve never been any place more dangerous than the olive bar at Whole Foods and their willingness to sacrifice their communities to their sense of self virtue. Those of us who get up every day, go to work, and somehow make it through the day without robbing, assaulting or killing others, are simply tax cattle and acceptable collateral damage.

You gotta love Mr fake name quoting O’keefe. Missing were several pieces of information that need to be included in his comment. State attorney Roy Korte ended this sham investigation with; “there are no clear or direct statements that voter fraud was planned or occurred.” Schimel sat on this for 3 months before an open record request made it public. After that little tidbit came out Schimel’s office said; “No violations of Wis election laws occurred.” Korte;”recordings began in the middle of conversations, contained gaps and include inaccurate time counters.” Translation; FRAUD. O’Keefe’s defense “equipment malfunctions.” More than one? Selective editing? Why didn’t Schimel prosecute? After numerous fines, community service guilty, pleas, years on probation you use this guy to try and make a point? So now we still have gotch posting this nonsense and Schimel has been appointed to the bench. Sad. VERY SAD.

  9. The claim that Soglin “gave cops a new Mid-Town police station” is a joke. Soglin postponed (vetoed) it MULTIPLE times. The probable reason was that Soglin didn’t want a police station two blocks from his house. The police department manager in charge of the development even OPENLY expressed that Soglin was not in favor of it!:

“Madison Police Capt. Jay Lengfeld … said at the Tuesday meeting he has felt a lack of desire to get the project finished. “I think city staff sometimes have a difficulty when the mayor, who is their boss, isn’t in favor of something,” Lengfeld said. “A couple meetings I had to explain what I believed was the democratic process of the three branches of government.””
