Because … ‘Intersectionality’

Guess who’s coming to breakfast? We’re talking the “Cops Out of Schools” breakfast Tuesday, primary election morning (02-19-19)? 

That’s right. Two of the Seat #4 Madison school board candidates: Ali Muldrow and Laila Borokhim are going to support the Cops Out of Schools cause.

Ali Muldrow and Laila Borokhim are signed up for Tuesday morning’s cop-bashing event at a venue called “The Threshold” at 2717 Atwood Ave., Madison. Bile is served at 8 a.m. Admission fee: $15.

It is billed as “No Cops in Schools — a Feminist Issue.”

Cops Out of Schools for breakfast? No thanks. Blaska Policy Werkes will pass.

Who’s the featured speaker? None other than M. Adams, co-executive director of Freedom, Inc. and co-founder of Young, Gifted, & Black Coalition. Freedom Inc. is the outfit that has been harassing parents speaking up for keeping police resource officers in our schools. They shut down the October 29 budget meeting.

This is the organization that F-bombs a cowering Madison school board with nonsense like “Police are trained to kill black students.” (WMTV-15: “Meeting to discuss police in schools heats up.”)

Once again, Ali Muldrow will tell people what they want to hear, depending on the audience.  Muldrow tells the teachers union she opposes independent charter schools even though she sends her children to them. (Reported by the WI State Journal)

Again this year, Muldrow is endorsed by Progressive Dane, whose platform ( https://prodane.org/education/ ) specifies: 

• “Stop contracting with Madison Police Department for educational resource officer presence in schools.
• “Question dress codes …
• “End the practice of expelling students.
• “Oppose zero-tolerance policies, including, but not limited to those for the use of cell phones and other personal devices.
• “Fund legal services/right to counsel for students facing formal discipline …” [ Hey, Kids! Lawyer up! ]

Worse, Progressive Dane boasts that Ali Muldrow helped WRITE that platform. PD requires all endorsed candidates to adhere to each and every platform plank; in other words: no cafeteria Catholics.

For Extra Credit: One potential attendee asks the Facebook organizer: “Can you briefly explain how police force in school is a feminist issue?” 

An answer comes from one Gisela Wilson:

“Feminism examines the way the power lines of society produce and reproduce inequality.”

Not to be outdone, Annalise Fay Dykman gives her take:

“Because feminism is intersectional. Students of color, disabled students, and trans students are arrested and penalized by police officers placed in schools, not protected. Please look into both the School to prison pipeline, and intersectional feminism.”

You heard them! Muldrow, Borokhim, M. Adams and their cohorts are calling Madison’s three black and one hispanic female school resource officers racist bigots. Shameful!

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Another way to produce inequality is by enabling chaos in the classroom so no one can learn, teachers quit in frustration, and parents take their children to the suburbs.

Playing the victim helps no one. Just ask Jusse Smollett. Oh, look! CNN is now burying the story under this anodyne headline: “As Jussie Smollett story takes a turn, reaction shifts to wait and see.” NOW they “wait and see!”
