Progressive Dane endorses urban chaos candidates

Hey kids! Lawyer up!

The white lab coats at Blaska Policy Werkes thank the social justice warriors at Progressive Dane for making our job ever so much easier.

Progressive Dane announced that it is endorsing 12 candidates in the Spring election — a handy checklist for who(m) to vote against.

madame brenda

Madame Brenda Konkel, Progressive Dane

Progressive Dane is a charter member of the Derail the Jail coalition that shut down the Dane County Board of Supervisors in November 2017 to prevent a vote on a more humane jail. (Along with Freedom Inc. (which wants cops out of the high schools), Madison Socialist Alternative, Our Wisconsin Revolution-Dane County, Young Gifted and Black.) PD is to the Left of even the Dane County Democratic party, a fact that explodes not a few minds out-state.

PD is, after all, the party of Brenda Konkel, the mad scientist who devised the disastrous “affordable housing” ordinance. Madame Brenda also championed the squalid squatters on the steps of the City-County Building a few years back.

ccb squatters

Madame Brenda also advertised for someone to swear out a complaint against Police Chief Mike Koval before the Police & Fire Commission. (As we know, she found a taker. The PFC dismissed the case and Koval sent his lawyer’s bill to the City.) The lady is so anti-cop that the Madison police union put up a billboard in her downtown district urging her defeat for re-election to the Common Council. Voters happily obliged.

The PD anointed these true believers (* incumbents):

Mayor of Madison – Satya Rhodes-Conway (running against incumbent Soglin and a cast of thousands.

Madison School Board Seat 4 – Ali Muldrow (running against your man Blaska et al)

Madison School Board Seat 5 – Ananda Mirilli (running against T.J. Mertz et al. Which is rich, given that PD endorsed Mertz last time around.)

Madison Alder District 2 – Patrick Heck (running against Jim White in a seat vacated by Ledell Zellers)

District 4 – Mike Verveer * (unopposed)

District 6 – Marsha Rummel * (unopposed)

District 7 – Badri Lankella (running against Donna Hurd Moreland in seat vacated by Steve King)

District 8 – Matthew Mitnick (running against Avra Reddy in the Zach Wood seat)

District 12 – Diane Farsetta (against Syed Abbas, Lydia S. Maurer, James Stansfield, and Mark-Anthony Whitaker in the Larry Palm district)

District 13 – Tag Evers (against David Hoffert, Justin Kirchen, and Lee Lazar in the Allen Arntsen/Sarah Eskrich seat)

District 15 – Grant Foster (against Angela Jenkins and Justin Williams in the Dave Ahrens seat)

District 17 – Samba Baldeh * (against James Creighton Mitchell, Jr.)

District 18 – Rebecca Kemble * (unopposed)

District 19 – Keith Furman (against Allison E. Martinson in the Mark Clear seat)

District 20 – Christian Albouras (against Erica L. Janisch in the Matt Phair seat. Albouras serves on — and is former co-chair of — the ad hoc committee that has been investigating Madison Police the last four years).

I swear lock-step allegiance

PD is also infamous for insisting its adherents swallow the goat whole or not at all. No cafeteria Catholics allowed in PD. What’s more, PD endorsed candidates must name a liaison from their campaign to PD. They must also advertise their endorsement. No running from the mark of Cain.

No wonder Kaleem Caire refused to be considered (as did Blaska) because Progressive Dane’s city platform is a hot mess. Things like taxpayer-funded election campaigns and voting rights for illegal aliens and felons.

PD’s schools platform is an even hotter mess:

  • “Stop contracting with Madison Police Department for educational resource officer presence in schools.
  • “Question dress codes …
  • “End the practice of expelling students.
  • “Oppose zero-tolerance policies, including, but not limited to those for the use of cell phones and other personal devices.
  • “Fund legal services/right to counsel for students facing formal discipline …”

Hey kids! Lawyer up! It’s worth noting that Progressive Dane has a disproportionate vice grip on the seven-member Madison Board of Education. In addition to Mertz they claim Dean Loumos, Nikki Vander Meulen, and (until last April) Anna Moffit, who served on the Loumos committee that tried its darnedest to kick cops out of our troubled high schools.

Progressive Dane credits Ali Muldrow with writing the PD platform.

A little race-baiting from Tag Evers

Our friend Paula Fitzsimmons got this blow-back from PD-endorsed Tag Evers:

tag evers

Paula responded:

You criticize Chief Koval for being defensive and reactive, yet please study your own reply to me. Do you not see the irony?

Yes, I have a healthy respect for authority, and I question anyone who doesn’t. Without people in authority, we would cease to be a civilized culture. If you can’t respect the people in authority, at least respect their positions. Question authority? Yes. But that doesn’t give anyone license to treat said authority with blatant disrespect.

If things don’t improve in the MMSD in the next 2-5 years I’ll definitely be relocating to another school district.

Can someone remind me when the next election is? And am I eligible to vote (against PD) in ALL of the races? Or do I actually have to reside in a specific district?

      • David Blaska says:

You can vote in all three seats. Vote Tuesday, February 19. See my facebook page at blaskaforsaferschools

        • johnny lawrence says:

Thanks for the info, but sorry, I don’t use Facebook. But I have the dates now, so I’m good.

Am I correct that there are two races for alder that involve multiple candidates (i.e. not a person running unopposed) where Progressive Dane did not make an endorsement? Am I correct about that, and do you know why?

District 3 (East): Michael Cerro, Lindsay Lemmer and Jared Schumacker
District 10 (Near West and Southwest): Zachary Henak and Kristin Johnson

And do you have opinions (I’m sure you do!) about the races with more than one non-PD endorsed candidate? Basically I want to figure out what candidates are LEAST PD-like.

District 12 (East and North): Syed Abbas, Lydia S. Maurer, James Stansfield, and Mark-Anthony Whitaker
District 13 (South and Near West): David Hoffert, Justin Kirchen, and Lee Lazar
District 15 (East): Angela Jenkins and Justin Williams

Your obsession with PD shows you do need some help. As for having to agree with them to get endorsed, who endorses you exactly?

Whats the problem with kids lawyering up? Why is it ok that Diane Hendricks can pay a million dollars for Scott Walker to pay two criminal defense firms but a kid can’t be represented. You guys are becoming more anti American by the minute

ABob et al, I’d like to hear your thoughts on what you consider anti and pro American.
Do you agree with Guv Cuomo who believes “America was never great”?
And the question still stands for Jeff Simpson.

    • Gary L. Kriewald says:

Three cheers for Andrew–“America was never great”–Cuomo, apologist for America (someone had to take over when Obama retired) and newest champion of infanticide. Just goes to show that you don’t have to be a millenial bimbo like AOC to qualify as a lefty loon these days. At least there’s a good chance that some pro-life fanatic with a functioning weapon will be inspired to do his duty.

      • richard lesiak says:

are you trolling for someone to create the violence that you don’t have the balls to do yourself?

        • AnonyBob says:

It’s a bit concerning how frequently he calls for violence.

        • Cornelius Gotchberg says:

”are you trolling for someone to create the violence that you don’t have the balls to do yourself?”

          Too funny!!!

We all know Richard the Chicken Livered seemingly advocates for peace love, & happiness.

But if you’s don’t see the world as the soon-to-be-shuttered HuffBlow & BuzzFeed tells him to see it, look out!

He can be real real tough internet coward that talks a big game when you’s don’t swallow the talking points he’s been force fed.

          To wit:

From a VERY disturbed, and thankfully spiked, comment:

“I do things the old fashioned way. Fists or a knife in you (sic) eye. No long distance, bone-spur excuses. Up close and personal. Just like posting my name. You want my phone number? Love to chat with you.”

Like I said; real real tough, am I right

          Don’t be like @richard lesiak!

    Anti American is?

    • AnonyBob says:

Sorry, Splat, I don’t know what Cuomo said or what the context was, and I can’t rely on you and the other salivating outragees (that’s a French word I just made up) on the right to tell me. I’ll pass on this bait. NEXT outrage…

  10. Cornelius Gotchberg says:

”A little race-baiting from Tag Evers”

Imagine that, every person The Gotch knows with that last name is a Lefty moron (forgive the redundancy) that draws the support of other Lefty morons.

    What are the odds?

    The Gotch

  11. madisonexpat says:

You project your own outrage. Every day since the Trump presidency became fact, Pearl clutching, fainting couch swoons are de rigeur and frequent for you Lefties.
The worst emotion you could ascribe to me is schadenfreude and boy am I guilty.
You believe America to be the problem rather than the solution. You ascribe to the Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky, Barack Obama, Saul Alinsky school of history. Never mind that Chomsky et al. loved them some Chavez/Maduro School of Governance until it played out as it always does.
You see your country teeming with Nazis and the KKK, deplorable bitter clingers. Like Michelle Obama you cannot be proud of our country except when it elected Barack.
I suspect it comes from self loathing you project outwards, although I know a lot of Liberals who are functional, reasonable, hard to trigger Americans who have a center/left worldview and no loathing.
But I don’t doubt that the more extreme anyone is the more they hate America.
    It’s a useful barometer.

  12. Cornelius Gotchberg says:

THE LIBERAL MIND: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness (Dr. Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr., M.D.)

“The radical left’s efforts to regulate the people from cradle to grave. To rescue us from our troubled lives, the liberal agenda:
    *recommends denial of personal responsibility,
    *encourages self-pity and other-pity,
    *fosters government dependency,
    *promotes sexual indulgence,
    *rationalizes violence,
    *excuses financial obligation,
    *justifies theft,
    *ignores rudeness,
    *prescribes complaining and blaming,
    *denigrates marriage and the family,
    *legalizes all abortion,
    *defies religious and social tradition,
    *declares inequality unjust, and
*rebels against the duties of citizenship.

“Through multiple entitlements to unearned goods, services and social status, the liberal politician promises to ensure everyone’s material welfare, provide for everyone’s healthcare, protect everyone’s self-esteem, correct everyone’s social and political disadvantage, educate every citizen, and eliminate all class distinctions.

“Radical liberalism thus assaults the foundations of civilized freedom. Given its irrational goals, coercive methods and historical failures, and given its perverse effects on character development, there can be no question of the radical agenda’s madness.

‘Bout sums it up, am I right?

Even when you just cut and paste other people, it still manages to be gibberish.

      • Cornelius Gotchberg says:

Aaaaaand, we have proof positive of Dr. Lassiter Jr.’s contention.

@AnonyBob wants real real mean Inconvenient Truth to just go away, but it just won’t.

        Try this.

That’s your Go To coping method?

        Never mind.

BTW, congrats! Youse were just administered the inaugural Zoltar Zinger!.

The first of many? I asked my Magic Eight Ball five times for the answer(s); the results:
        *It is certain
        *It is decidedly so
        *Signs point to yes
        *Without a doubt
        *Yes, definitely

That ’bout cinches it, am I right?

    • richard lesiak says:

I’ll have to come back to figure out your gibberish. Right now I’m pondering trump’s claim that the wall came before the wheel. Or was it the other way? But now he claims that his poll numbers are up 19% with Hispanics due to the shutdown. What was it gotchiee? Wheel/wall or wall/wheel?

      • Cornelius Gotchberg says:

Someone, for whom English not only isn’t a second language but not even in the Top Five, calling nearly flawless prose “gibberish” is a small person’s embarrassingly feeble revenge for being intimidated and rightly feeling inadequate.
