Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

We lost and we will conduct ourselves with honor because we are Republicans

Funny thing about us Wisconsin Republicans. We respect the democratic process.

We campaigned hard, we made our arguments and we prayed for the best. The  votes were counted; we lost the key statewide races. That’s how it works in a democratic republic. Sometimes you win; this time we lost. We will abide by the will of the people and try to figure what went wrong as we  prepare for the next election.

state-capitol.jpgMost of us went to work this morning as usual. Fed the kids their dinner,  helped with their homework, and paid the bills. We retirees raked the leaves, did our civic volunteer work, and fixed that leaking faucet. Maybe poured a glass of wine.

We won’t blame ballot security measures, redistricting, campaign finance laws, Tom Steyer, George Soros, Rachel Maddow or Big Bird.

We got a new governor here in Wisconsin named Tony Evers. Tammy Baldwin is still U.S. Senator. A damn good attorney general went down. Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco looks to be speaker of the House of Reps to replace Paul Ryan of Janesville.

We will not attend their inaugurations in order to disrupt the proceedings. We’ll just stay home. We won’t occupy the state capitol, heckle their speakers, shout epithets, draw swastikas on their photographs, spit at their supporters, or hassle them at restaurants. No sad songs sung noons in the Capitol rotunda.

We wear baseball caps or farm seed caps instead of those funny pink unmentionable hats. No chanting allowed.

We don’t smash windows, spray graffiti, or cry Racism (reverse or otherwise). We pick up after ourselves. We thank the police officer as we pass. The world is not ending. (It’s more like Pause mode.)

We don’t call our political opponents deplorable, nor do we mock their religious faith. Because we are Wisconsin Republicans and we have our pride.

Sadly, you can be a complete screwup and moron and still win. It’s not about accomplishments or character anymore; it’s about public perception. And where does the public get its ideas from? The news and social media; and we know how that goes.

This is quite a myopic view of Republicans. Get out much?

I think Dave was spot on, Dan. Hopefully liberals can learn something about class and grace from this.

Liberals learn something about class and grace? Name one thing they’ve learned over the past 8 years except how to “resist,” how to double-down on identity politics, and how to demonize Republicans.

Very gracious, David. I do think, however, Republicans could stand to learn something from this. They didn’t fight hard enough. They needed to show people just how radical the Dems have become, but they took the high road instead. Nice to tout achievements, but we have Dems defending Antifa (or staying silent when asked to disavow them) for heaven’s sake – and people needed to see that!

Amen, sister. Amen. Walker’s campaign should have hammered home the idea that Evers is just a skinny, bespectacled version of Jim Doyle–i.e., a tax-and-spend Madison liberal. Thankfully, as our host points out, his hands will be pretty much tied by the Republicans in the Legislature, where Madison liberals will remain as impotent as they have been for the last 8 years–Praise Jesus!.

The Resistance. Antifa. Politicians refusing to disavow Antifa and defending them. Mobs. Harassing elected officials during their private time. Dressing up like reproductive organs. Politicians inciting violence. Subverting due process. Neverending protests without regard for how it impacts neighbors. Weaponizing race. Protesters getting in your face. Spending with little to show for it. Intolerance for dissenting thought. Voters threatening violence if Dems don’t win the House.

Trump is brash, but I’ll take him over what the Democratic party has become. If you don’t like it, that’s your problem.

Forgot to add: Disdain for law enforcement. Tying law enforcement’s hands making it impossible to do their jobs. Blaming law enforcement. Blaming victims. Not holding criminals accountable and making excuses for them.

The US Senate GAINED seats, by the way. Those senators who stood with Kavanaugh and Trump did well. That’s because people are sick of phony politicians who may be charming as heck and talk a good game, but when it comes down to it, don’t deliver anything tangible except platitudes.

So those of you coming here to gloat: I wouldn’t read to much into this election. There was NO blue wave. A trickle? I’ll give you that, but not a wave.

OB, your admiration for a porn star/prostitute and Jim Acosta illustrates your judgement in who you admire. No thanks.
Nationally I’m pleased with the election. The pick ups in the senate ensure conservative judges. The incumbent lost the minimal number of congress critters. RINO’s are gone. Let the DEms try to satisfy their loony base. Now if we could just get a budget.

I have never, ever said that I admired a porn star/prostitute. For you to confuse me with the great orange groper is an insult. An until this very instant I have never, ever said anything good, bad, or indifferent about Acosta. Why do you have to lie? Is it pathology, like 45, or just your feeble attempt at a gotch moment?

Then say something about Acosta. Is it possible that you’d agree he was as rude to all the other reporters as he was to the president?

Rude, crude, and dishonest seems to be the choice made by you guys, not me. So why lie? Or can’t you answer the question?

I still didn’t care if Acosta got his creds pulled until Sarah HuckaBS posted the doctored video. She is just as shameless and dishonest as her boss.

“And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed – if all records told the same tale – then the lie passed into history and became truth”. Orwell

That fits you, 45, and Sarah to a T.

I’ll ignore the Lefty-handed compliment and point out that yer view has been PROVEN to be in no way, shape, or form moored to a fact-based reality, which has irreparably damaged yer already severely compromised credibility.

It’s not just you Cornelius. About six weeks ago while out bicycling, I noticed Ms. Stubbs carrying Evers in a baby papoose while strolling through the Arboretum. Peculiar.

From a news article this morning:
“Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says he’s open to the Legislature scaling back the governor’s power during that session.”

They may not riot, but they’ll do some worse with longer ranging consequences: knee-cap the governor’s power for almost certainly political reasons.
Do you think they would have done this had Walker won re-election because they suddenly felt like they needed to reign in gubernatorial power?

North Carolina’s GOP state legislative super-majorities did the same thing two years ago when they couldn’t come to terms with the fact that a Democrat was elected governor.
