The Democrats’ ‘Fighting dirty’ is losing voters

The Capital Times is desperate to smear nurse and working mother Leah Vukmir as a “dishonest … career politician” because the Republican candidate for Senate is hitting incumbent Tammy Baldwin where it hurts: her starring role in the Act 10 intifada of 2011.  (“Working mother demeaned.”)

The weeks-long takeover of the Wisconsin state capitol seven years ago by well compensated government employees and their paymasters in the Democrat(ic) party resonates with voters today as they marvel at the Left’s nationwide hissy fit over the Kavanaugh appointment.

Storming the Supreme Court building, disrupting the U.S. Senate chamber during the roll call vote Saturday, occupying Senate office buildings, and harassing elected officials — sound familiar, Wisconsin? Vukmir reminds:

What we’re seeing today with the Kavanaugh nomination are the same intimidation schemes those on the left implements whenever their ideas don’t win at the ballot box.

The Kavanaugh irruption caps two years of pussy hats, Antifa thuggery, street blockades, and other Resistance tomfoolery. All a turn-off to voters in the middle.

In today’s Wall Street Journal, Daniel Henninger marvels at Donald Trump’s “luck in attracting self-destructive opponents.” The Democrats’ last presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton, told CNN:

I believe if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and/or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again. But until then, the only thing that the Republicans seem to recognize and respect is strength.

(As her husband Bill once said after a sexual conquest, “better put ice on that.”) Barack Obama’s first attorney general also sounds, well, similarly desperate. 

Michele [Obama] always says, ‘When they go low, we go high.’ No no! When they go low, we kick them.

U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-LA, responded, 

At a time when Republicans are being shot, stabbed, doxxed, beaten, mailed powder, run out of restaurants, and sent death threats, Hillary Clinton urges Democrats to be even more uncivil. What an irresponsible statement. Every Democrat should denounce. pic.twitter.com/TdEmISWnzM

Time to fight dirty

The Capital Times cannot denounce what it encourages. It is forced to defend the Act 10 shenanigans because it was a co-conspirator. Associate editor John Nichols held the bullhorn (borrowed from the Socialist Workers Party) for Tammy as she exhorted the protestors in the Capitol rotunda. That’s when he wasn’t rousing the rabble in his own voice or on the printed page.

It is true that nobody died or was injured in the Act 10 protests. (Did Leah say different?) Let us also stipulate that:

• The overnight, weeks-long occupation of the Capitol was illegal. 
• Madison teachers illegally walked off the job, shutting down school for a full week. 
• Democrats in the state senate skedaddled to Illinois rather than do their jobs in Madison.

These were glory days of Segway Boy, Thistle padlocking herself to a Capitol stairway bannister, and Pink Dress Guy tossing a beer into the face of a legislator. (Oh, the memories!) Recall (if you’ll pardon the expression) that protestors:

• Harassed Sen. Glenn Grothman. 
• Shut down the M&I Bank on the Square. 
• Disrupted a Special Olympics award ceremony. 
• Shouted obscenities at Sarah Palin and the teenage girl who spoke at a counter rally.
• Threatened to dress out Gov. Walker’s wife “like a deer.”

No wonder President Obama kept his distance!

You may remember the Vukmir ad recounting her own death threats, a handgun for self-defense near at hand. YOU try getting death threats.

• All of which re-elected Scott Walker. Twice. 
• All of which elected an even more-Republican legislature. Twice.
• All of which gave Donald Trump the state’s first electoral votes given a Republican since 1984.

Civility is so … Republican

The Capital Times is heavily invested in the politics of confrontation and disruption, the raised fist, heckler’s veto, and illegal occupation. Even the shutdown of the overwhelmingly liberal Dane County Board last November drew no rebuke from “Your Progressive Voice.” Its identity politics heroes from Progressive Dane, Black Lives Matter, and the International Socialists harass parents at school board meetings, play the race card, believe all women (except Paula Jones) — even Tawana Brawley. 

Two days after Independence Day, the editor emeritus of The Capital Times published a column that approved harassing opposing viewpoints. 

“Change-makers know civility isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,” editor emeritus Dave Zweifel wrote about the Hard Left’s new playbook Time to Fight Dirty. 

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Now that the Madison madness has gone nationwide, voters are appalled and Resistance apologists are (wait for it!) desperate!
