Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Are you [now or have you ever been] a gang rapist?

[ UPDATE: Sen. Flake says let the FBI find out what it can in one week and then vote. Sen. Lindsay Graham is asked if that will make America feel better about the nominee and the process. He answers (to the effect) “The number of Americans whose opinion changes can fit into a phone booth. (Whatever that is.) The question is whether it makes Jeff Flake feel better. That’s called ‘democracy.’”
[ Not only that, but it takes away a key Democrat(ic) talking point. Lindsay Graham on a postage stamp. NOW! ]

Where is Joseph Welch when you need him?

Now, just as I write this, Sen. Cornyn, R-Texas, is quoting his rebuke of character assassination during the McCarthy hearings: “At long last, sir, have you no sense of decency?”

Your Squire has almost finished his 1983 day calendar and will have 1984 completed by the weekend. Just 35 more to go! You just can’t be too careful these days.

We confess that, watching the U.S. Senate Judiciary hearing Thursday, that Brett Kavanaugh had us at “I like beer.” What horny young Catholic boy’s prep student doesn’t like a good beer? (I ask you.)

Are these feeble attempts at humor in bad taste? Well, so were the Squire’s high school and college years. So has been this nomination process, the President’s personal conduct, the race-baiters at Freedom Inc./Int’l Socialists, and much of our politics. Blaska did not start the fire.

Yes, the indentured servants here at the Manor thought Christine Blasey Ford was compelling and credible. Brett Kavanaugh’s indignant defense was the same. Of course, that is being used against him. Rachel Maddow ran a clip of Kavanaugh’s self-defense without the sound and yes, the man looked like a barking dog. The man lacks judicial temperament! a theme The Ranking Member picked up in Judiciary Committee debate this morning.

Shakespeare in Merchant of Venice asked, if you prick us, do we not bleed?

Think about it, can Brett Kavanaugh even coach his daughters’ basketball team any longer?

“Are you [now, sir, or have you ever been] a gang rapist?” Sen. Lindsay Graham, R-South Carolina, asked of the Supreme Court nominee Thursday.

It was an ironic question, meant to underscore the meanness of the inquisition into (really) childhood behavior that, today in Madison, would warrant restorative justice — if it occurred at all.

As Sen. Graham said during this morning’s hearing, a prosecutor (which he was, as well as a judge) could not even obtain a search warrant on Blasey-Ford’s claim, much less the two subsequent ambush charges.

Subpoena those high school yearbooks

In the absolute nadir of Thursday’s hearing — which will take its place in infamy with the McCarthy-Army hearings, Robert Bork’s borking, Anita Hill, indeed, the long-ago Andrew Johnson impeachment hearing —  Democrats posted on an overhead screen a page out of Kavanaugh’s high school yearbook. HIS HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOK!

Bluto
Bluto Blutarsky went on to be elected to the U.S. Senate

From an era of movies like Animal House, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Caddyshack.

Now Brett Kavanaugh stands before you as an accused gang rapist, if you wish to believe porn star-chaser Michael Avenatti, who unveiled his accusations on a TV program called “The Circus.” And the woman must always be believed, is it not true. (Sen. Leahy of Vermont said he believed Anita Hill.)

So the question becomes, in all seriousness, does the accusation trump the denial? Absent corroborating witnesses, specific dates, or physical evidence (blue dress, anyone?) Is the woman always to be believed?

Did Democrats believe Paula Jones? Juanita Broaddrick? Kathleen Willey?

If it did happen as Blasey Ford described, Kavanaugh is either lying or he cannot remember, which is why Sen. Klobuchar, D-Minnesota, pursued the drinking angle. She, by the way, is one of the more responsible Democrats on the committee. (The worst of whom are Corey Booker, Kamela Harris, and Richard Blumenthal. Insincere grandstanders, all. All of whom walked out of the hearing this morning. Our advice: keep walking.)

Senator Booker is a sponsor of something called the REDEEM Act, which American Spectator magazine describes as “a thorough-going defense of the scientific reality that 17-year-old teenagers are working with undeveloped brains and thus are immature in their decision making. And because of this their subsequent lives should not be impacted unfavorably, let alone ruined.”

Last night on Fox News, Martha MacCallum asked a Kavenaugh school chum about Mark Judge, the one identifiable witness at the infamous groping party that summer 36 years ago. Patrick Smith answered, “Mark can’t remember 1983.” Doesn’t help Kavanaugh’s case. Fox broke for a commercial.

Fox was journalistic enough to put on camera a defender of Blasey Ford, countered by regular contributor Marc Thiessen, who spoke of wanting to defend his two daughters from assault — and his two sons from false accusations. Saw nothing as even-handed on either MSNBC or CNN.

The stakes are higher

As powerful as was Lindsay Graham Thursday, the real must-watch is Lindsay Graham this Friday morning. He laid out the political calculus, which amounts to this: Neil Gorsuch was trading one conservative for another (Scalia). Kavanaugh, by contrast, trades a conservative for the retired, middle-of-the-road swing vote, Anthony Kennedy.

Graham explained the political strategy (we summarize here:) What the Democrats cannot defeat, they must destroy.

Of course, CNN last night dismissed Graham as auditioning for attorney general. Didn’t sound like it this morning as Graham sounded like we would succeed Grassley as chairman of judiciary.

So, think of what you will of Brett Kavanaugh at age 17-18 or the privileged, beer-soaked Chevy Chase country club milieu in which he did so. Sen. Graham asked his morning: “If he was a gang rapist in high school and college, you just don’t give it up.”

Think of all the victims of #MeToo: Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose, etc. There’s a history.

Bret Stephens in the NY Times asked:

Is there any damaging allegation against Kavanaugh, of any nature and from any source, which the left would not automatically believe? Will every future Supreme Court or cabinet nominee, Republican or Democratic, be expected to account, in minute and excruciating detail, for his behavior and reputation as a teenager?

Blaska’s almost-to-the Bottom Line: Guys, did you ever try to cop a feel and get your hand slapped away? Get working on your 1983 calendars and for Gawd’s sake, burn that yearbook!

“With the ‘Top Gun’ slogan ringing in my head, I slowly reached for her breast,” Corey Booker wrote of that night. “After having my hand pushed away once, I reached my ‘mark.’” — the New Jersey Democrat writing about an incident on New Year’s Eve 1984 (when he was 15).

Holy God, if that’s what ruins your life these days, the world has gone mad. I wonder whether college-student Cory was bullshitting when he claimed to be changed forever by this “wake up” call. — Ann of Althouse.

National Lampoon's high school yearbook

National Lampoon’s classic 1964 high school yearbook parody. A subscription card in the book advises: “Certain National Lampoon ingredients such as hatred of minority groups, loathing of the Kennedy family, appreciation of violence, and rampant sexual chauvinism make the National Lampoon effective for use against permissive liberals. … Just because a person is young and healthy is no reason he can’t be driven to suicide by merciless attacks on his values and lifestyle.”

I didn’t like how Booker kept saying Ford told “her truth”. There is no “her truth”, there’s just the truth. Ford told her side of the story. It’s a particularly shameful use of Marxist newspeak by Booker, given the situation.

Apparently charges of being a gang-rapist aren’t enough. The latest accusation (reported on the gay website “Queerty”) comes from someone who claims to have been one of Kavanaugh’s two roommates at Yale. According to him, Brett was a “loud, obnoxious, frat-boy-like drunk” who frequently vomited in their bathroom and then neglected to clean it up; he also seldom spoke to his roommate, who was gay . The former roommate also suspects Kavanaugh of being behind a creepy prank in which a dead pigeon was nailed to his bedroom door. “I interpreted it as an act of hostility/terrorism.” There you have it, folks: Brett Kavanaugh, gang rapist, homophobe, terrorist. Stay tuned for charges of bestiality, Satanism, and failing to recycle. Yesterday’s freak show demonstrated conclusively the utter moral bankruptcy of Democrats, who have become little more than a pack of rabid hyenas determined to ruin the reputation of someone based on a toxic political agenda and an utter contempt for the rule of law.

Betting there would be hundreds of gays and pro-abortion women who would fall on their swords with tales, which like that of Ford, will be devoid of time, date, etc. so they cannot readily be dismissed. They’ll come out of their holes to make certain that Kavanaugh is toast. The meme of toxic white men has validated as the unwritten, unratified 28th Amendment. < The entire nation of women and gays NOW have direct veto power over any male nominee. So, unless such a male is on the LEFT, there is no hope. Merit has nothing to do with it; pink ideology rules. The current Republicans are too stupid to understand the new rules of the game.

Good news: For now, the fascism of the Dims will be soft enough for some of us to live in peace for the remainder of our lives. Kids in school? Dey better start packin. 🙂

  7. I watched the entire Ford hearing yesterday and here is my honest opinion of Ford. There are some things about her that I recognize and not in a good way.

I suspect that Ford has more psychological problems than she is willing to open up about which likely led her to pursuing psychology. After listening to her it’s my belief that something likely happened between her and one boy and the second boy was added to the story later for dramatic victimizing effect. I think this story has been becoming more elaborate over the years, started off with one simple truth and then she’s added a couple enhancement lies on that simple truth carefully crafting them so no one can absolutely disprove them. If it were possible to accurately look back at her life I think you would find that she has used exaggerated victim claims to manipulate others including her therapist and her husband. She likely had psychological problems well before this seed event ever happened. Ford appears to me to be a master manipulator seeking personal attention and she might be on the verge of being a narcissist.

Now back to why I recognize some things about her; I grew up with a master manipulator I’m a victim family member (yes a narcissist) that is just like her right down building up false stories based on a simple truths and even the pursuit of psychology. I’ve seen this before.

Something more: I just talked to someone I know that’s actually claustrophobic and it’s now my opinion that Ford is lying through her damn teeth about being claustrophobic. No one so claustrophobic that they would actually need two front doors on their house because of their condition would ever step foot on an airplane without being very heavily drugged for the entire flight. Ford has flown all over the world and all over the United States.

Look, Ford is like a wet puppy who’s been out in the cold all week. She’s an adult snowflake. A plugged sink drain probably causes her to go into shock.

She’s a psycho case who projects past fantasy or hope onto her mission to become her generation’s, Rosa Parks. Senators will never ask her to undergo a psych eval for dreams, psychosis’s, and other non-normal parapsychology issues. This is not hyperbole. I know for a fact that the DC field office of the FBI has a special group of citizens who are psycho and who call the FBI with delusions, dreams, monsters in the back yard, etc. Ford has deep problems.

Zoltar, — source about FBI and ‘nut’ files of locals who call regularly each weekend to report their delusions? Sorry. As a journalist, I’ll protect my source. No matter, don’t believe me.

Delusional callers as different from Ford? Not really…how does one compare examples of insane delusions? There is no common denominator. Benign or soft character assassination may be as effective as an aggressive prosecutor. Delusions of a coke-head; a wino; a meth-freak; a heroin addict; or any number of folks who are video gamers. Consider the movies, Fatal Attraction or Silence of the Lambs. Consider sane folks like Mike Nifong, or Senator Blumenthal or the 200+ Duke profs who signed a letter about the guilt of the Duke Lacrosse boys? Others maintain there’s a Loch Ness Monster. How many fruitloops do you know who, LIKE FORD, had to modify their home’s front door for psych satisfaction? Or, have you ever seen a grown woman SCREAM and SHRIEK over the sight of a field mouse in their basement?

On another level, we even know of folks who talked to Mother Earth, Grizzly Bears, and pet snakes, pet chimps, pet plants, and even dogs. Humans project irrationality all the time. Guy who talked to Grizzly Bears…named them, etc., was ett by dem.— as was his girl friend who shared the delusion. ( My house? BS walks.)

Otherwise rational people often scream at their dogs: “Earnie, don’t bite the lady,” as though the dog understood the owner’s syntax. If we really believed dogs understood English language, (without ever attending school !) society would abolish all laws that require leashes on animals. Chips would not tear the face off of their owner; dogs would not kill their masters.

Ford? Struck me as the type of Adult Snowflake who would report “attempted murder” to the police from a dragon fly that flew into her car windshield.

Tom Paine wrote, “Ford? Struck me as the type of Adult Snowflake who would report “attempted murder” to the police from a dragon fly that flew into her car windshield.”

For what it’s worth; your problem is that you haven’t personally talked to the nut jobs that call into the FBI, your source might have, you are literally basing your opinion on hearsay from a source, although it’s a decent source, but it’s still hearsay not personal experience interacting with the callers. You have no basis to make such a judgement unless your source actually told you directly after Ford’s testimony that she reminded them of the nutjobs that called into the FBI.

I repeat, I saw nothing to justify comparing her to psycho citizens who call the FBI with delusions, dreams, monsters in the back yard, etc.

That would be the Democrat who outed her, since they were the only ones who knew who she was. Then they accused her of outing herself! If Di Fi had handed this over to FBI in July, Ford’s anonymity could have been preserved AND they would have their FBI investigation. There is NOTHING in the constitution about hearings, only advice and consent. And Merrick Garland and Obama got that. Essentially the Senate said “Our advice is to not send that nomination up here because we are going to withhold our consent.” He did not take the advice and the senate didn’t give their consent. Hearings were a 20th century invention first used to try and torpedo the first Jewish nominee, Louis Brandeis by having a bunch of preening senators air their anti-Semitic thoughts before a public audience and smear the man. Somethings never change.

Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination was opposed by every single Democrat within 25 minutes of his nomination and long before any sex assault stories came out. He is being opposed because he’s Catholic and we all know why that is, now don’t we? The liberal sacrament of abortion must not be so much as deterred, let alone restricted. Problem is the Dems can’t come out and say that so they will do ANYTHING to keep that seat open, including character assassination.

      You make a point.

Had a teenage familial X-Chromosomal Unit brought this to me on a timely, credible basis, I would have reacted, unapologetically and in an emotionally-charged protective manner, made things right to the best of my abilities.

BUT, had they brought it to me 36 years later, with even a whisper of the tsunami of BULLS#!T inconsistencies that surround this situation, I’d say “now wait a minute.”

Memory is a funny thing… especially in Ford’s case. She remembers the alleged event in exquisite detail. Notable exceptions being; how she got there, how she left, when it happened, where it happened. or anyone who can corroborate any aspect of her story. The woman is either lying, mentally ill, or has constructed false memories to build a false narrative around events she would rather not remember. Whatever the case, hopefully the FBI investigation ends with her prosecution.

Sprocks, you didn’t listen to what she said or learn anything from it. She described in technical, yet simplified, detail how the brain retains traumatic memory. My wife, with the PhD that involved a lot of brain study, confirmed everything she said, and observed other characteristics in her that were consistent with sexual assault trauma. Remembering the assault, but not the details before or after? All too true.

So, your wife confirmed Ford was sexually assaulted by watching her on television? Better call Feinstein, she’ll be dying to hear from you.

It’s not simple details she’s short on. She has convenient wholesale amnesia regarding any part of the story that is falsifiable. Her entire claim is solely “I claimed it to be true (using my best hurt little girl voice), therefore it must be.”

In 2013 there was a senate vote on the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act. 22 senators voted against it. All Republicans. Six are currently on this Senate Judiciary Comm. Grassley Cruz Hatch Cornyn Graham Lee. Also voting against was Sessions McConnell Paul and our very own Johnson. And you wonder why this whole hearing was a mess right from the start? Now the ABA and the priests who run that school are withdrawing their support. And the hits just keep on comin’!

That’s got nothing to do with this, that’s just bull shit innuendo. You might want to figure out a way of going back to find out why these senators voted against it instead of just issuing blanket smears regarding it.

richard lesiak wrote, “And you wonder why this whole hearing was a mess right from the start?”

That makes absolutely no logical sense Richard. First it’s got nothing to do with what you wrote prior to that and it was a damn circus mess from the very start (and before the hearings started) because that’s exactly how the Democrats wanted it.

richard lesiak wrote, “Now the ABA and the priests who run that school are withdrawing their support.”

That’s a rationalization. Those organizations are openly pandering to Progressives and the social justice warriors cult. No one proved that Kavanaugh did anything, the accusations are completely unsupportable and completely unsubstantiated, only genuinely stupid people are willing to toss aside the presumption of innocence and think that an accusation is equivalent to guilt.

What I wrote has everything to do with it. Shows a long standing attitude of dismissing women and their issues. Why do you think they hired a woman to ask questions for them.. Optics. They know their voting record sucks on women’s issues. When did you ever see that loud-mouth Cruz give up his speaking time? Never. The hearing is a mess partly because Grassley voted no in 2013 and now he’s jumping through hoops trying to BS women into thinking he gives a s@#t. The American Bar Assoc and those priests are pandering to progressives? For what? What could they gain from that? Refusing to bring witnesses, refusing testimony, rushing this through, no investigation, They tossed the entire process out the window without opening it and now people are calling bulls@#t. The gop and trump are doing this only for one reason. They promised a bunch of bible thumpers that a conservative court that would vote for all their social issues.

Because the political left spins absolutely everything and they would smear them for questioning her and instead what did they do, they smeared them saying they didn’t have the guts to question her. The political right and men are always smeared by the left when it comes to women, it’s always a lose-lose situation because the left are unethical political hacks and liars.

Yes, they are pandering to Progressives and the social justice warrior cult with virtue signalling, they don’t want to be attacked by the idiotic Progressive social justice warrior cult for not jumping on their bandwagon. This is happening all over the place, these organizations have been intimidated into their pandering. I always enjoy the liberal pivot from the position that women are as capable as men and interchangeable with them in all aspects to their alternate position that women are feeble creatures that require special protections and different standards. It would be nice if they would just pick one and stick to it.

“Now the ABA […] (is) withdrawing their support.”

THIS is what happens when idiots have headlines read to them which confirm their steadfast, hyper-partisan (albeit fact-bereft) wishes and accept it as gospel.

ABA President Robert Carlson’s letter was sent without submitting it through proper review channels, ergo, he was speaking ONLY for himself, NOT the ABA.

Matter-a-fact, the ABA Chair Paul T. Moxley sent a follow-up letter to Grassley & DiFi saying just that.

The coup de grâce kill shot:

THE ABA’S RATING FOR JUDGE KAVANAUGH IS NOT AFFECTED BY MR. CARLSON’S LETTER.

I hope the FBI takes a tiny peek at who outed Ford because it’s right out oh the Anita Hill playbook. People may not remember, but Hill also wanted to remain anonymous. But they knew that if she did that, she would not testify and nobody would even be able make the accusation. So they outed her and gave her no choice. They did the exact same thing to Ford and basically said “You want to remain anonymous? Too bad, we don’t care one whit about your trauma or personal wishes. We have plans for you. You will be the club with which we pummel that altar boy.”

Looks like the FBI is going to take a “tiny peek” at old buddy Mark Judge. The gop has been working over-time to keep him quiet. Sen Cornyn said that making him talk would be cruel, reckless and indecent because he has anxiety and a fear of public speaking. Blasey Ford over-came her anxiety and fear so why is the gop defending this guy. The repubs. even had to hire a woman to do their job (all except the grand-standing that is). Grand Old Pussies.

We’re getting closer and closer to the time when “You must believe me because I’m a woman who has suffered some kind of traumatic event sometime in my life” becomes the law of the land. We’ve seen this toxic formula of sentimentality and psychobabble before, specifically in the late ’80s when the entire country became convinced that gangs of Satanic child molestors lurked around every corner in every town. Anyone remember the Mc Martin preschool case? An elderly woman and the staff of her preschool in Manhattan Beach, CA were accused of subjecting their pupils to Satanic sexual abuse including animal sacrifice and child/adult orgies. They were arrested without a shred of physical evidence (officials excavated the entire school building and found not so much as a chicken bone). The stories told by the children–who were assiduously coached by “thereapists”–became wilder and more implausible by the day but no one dared discount them because, as one of the prosecutors put it, “Children never lie.” (Those of you with children will doubtless be able to corroborate this.) During the trials, similar stories erupted across the country–all of them eventually discredited. After 6 years, no convictions were obtained and the McMartin trials still stand as the most expensive ever held in this country. Now we’re gripped by the same kind of sexual hysteria and moral panic, and another victim is about to be sacrificed. One thing you can count on in this country: We remember nothing, we learn nothing.

I remember that case too. I also remember the rwnj’s going nuts over “child/adult” Clinton child sex ring being run out of a pizza place. The point is that people have information and wish to share it. McConnell and the gop tried to ram this guy through by refusing testimony, investigations, not calling witnesses, etc. They turned this hearing into a scam and the more they tried the worse it got for them. People are just plain sick and tired of these DC blowhards jerking around the process of running the gov’t. They all have lost the trust of the citizens. Everyone thinks they are all a bunch of lying, stealing, dirtbags. You need to read the fine print on everything they do because 99% of the time there’s something there that is going to screw somebody bigly.

“The point is people have information and wish to share it.” No, the point is that because of the hysteria whipped up the harridans in the #MeToo “movement” the government processes must grind to a halt while we’re subjected to a cross between a re-make of the Inquisition and a circus freak show. Ford’s “information” would never stand up in a court of law, but that doesn’t matter because suddenly she’s the Joan of Arc for every woman who has–or thinks she has or just pretends to have–suffered sexual abuse. Senator Flakey decides to keep the farce going for another week because a couple hysterical women corner him in an elevator wailing about THEIR (not Ford’s) sexaul abuse. When the prevailing cultural fad can decide who gets or doesn’t get on the Supreme Court, we’ve well and truly proven ourselves incapable of self-government.
