What a strange co-inky-dink!

The Capital Times bent over backwards to excuse the preemptory rush to judgment of its ‘lil darling, Tammy Baldwin, from even considering the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Vukmir should stop lying about Baldwin’s handling of the Kavanaugh pick,” Your Progressive Voice bleated. Turns out, someone was lying and it wasn’t Leah Vukmir.

Sen. Baldwin announced her opposition to the Kavanaugh pick a bare three days after his announced appointment. Would not even meet with the man. It’s a wonder it took that long.

Turns out Sen. Baldwin, D-Wisconsin, is attached at the rib cage to the lawyers fronting for Kavaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford.

So attached that Professor Ford’s legal mouthpieces are major fund raisers for Wisconsin’s senior senator. Scheduled a one-percenter fund raiser scheduled for Tammy at the law offices of Professor Blasey Ford’s  attorneys. Debra Katz and Lisa Banks were listed as headliners in a “cocktails and conversation” event for Tammy in Washington D.C. Price tag up to  $1,000 to attend the October 1 event.

After CNN contacted the Baldwin campaign and the attorneys, Katz called CNN to say that the event was being canceled. The invite was sent Thursday morning, but a campaign spokesman called it an “old invite” scheduled before Ford’s accusation became public. (More here.)

This hook-up is nothing new. Katz and Banks shook the dollar tree for Tammy in her first Senate campaign six years ago.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: “The timing comes at an awkward time,” the pro-Democrat CNN is forced to acknowledge. “Awkward” doesn’t begin to describe it.
