David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

West High staffer punched and spit upon breaking up fight

5 arrested, thereby proving the school-to-prison pipeline theory

(Snark alert!)

Our neighbors here on the southwest side of Madison are all over Police Chief Mike Koval’s exposure of the juvenile justice system’s revolving door policy. (Recounted here.)

Then and now

Chief Koval says the system is “releasing people just as fast as arrests are made.

Officers report that when making arrests of some of these juveniles, they are wearing GPS monitoring devices attached from a previous court case. Increasingly, youthful offenders driving stolen vehicles are not hesitating to flee officers.  Video obtained from some homeowners’ private cameras display a boldness that is both intentional and reckless. MPD is currently working a case where a number of juvenile offenders took part in breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a defenseless woman.

On the social media site NextDoor, a Mr. West from Meadowood writes, “This is about youth so David’s efforts to politicize it go too far although I do agree with some of his thoughts that speak to suggested solutions.”

Except that politics is what got us to where we are, Mr. West. From the police chief’s daily log:

12:17 p.m. Wednesday, September 12: A fight involving 5-7 students took place outside of West High School. In attempting to break up the fight, a school staff member was punched and spit on. There were five students (three 15-year-old AAFs and two 16-year-old AAFs who were arrested for their part in the altercation.  All five juveniles were conveyed to the Juvenile Reception Center.  Investigation continuing.

This would be the very same Madison public school district whose school board is considering expelling — not the trouble makers but the police —from its four high schools. Folks, we elected these people to public office. That’s politics.

Tony Evers loves his schools
Tony Evers, Democrat(ic) candidate for governor

Expel the police AND empty the prisons

You want politics? How about the governor’s race? State education chief Tony Evers is challenging incumbent Scott Walker on the Democrat(ic) ticket.

Evers’ national association (he was a ranking officer) put out a report titled “Leading for Equity: Opportunities for State Education Chiefs.” It says:

Funding programs for disadvantaged students may require hiring fewer school officers/security guards, whose benefits are outweighed by a negative influence on school culture and equity, and disproportionate consequences for students of color, and instead dedicate those resources toward hiring school counselors, mental and behavioral health workers, and nurses.”

As long as those behavioral health workers, and nurses, are willing to break up fights. And be spit upon.

Then again, Tony Evers wants to throw open the prison gates. Evers is on record saying a 50 percent cut in prison population is “a goal that’s worth accomplishing.”

PolitiFact finds that kind of reduction, unless spread out over decades, “could require releasing violent felons, according to Kenneth Streit, a clinical professor of law emeritus at the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Quick, more resources!

Tony Evers has been state superintendent of education for eight years now and Milwaukee’s public schools are still a stygian sty of despair and dysfunction. More than half Milwaukee district’s public schools are rated as meeting few or no expectations on the state report card. Its finances are in turmoil. Its superintendent quit.

Like the good liberal-progressive-socialist he is, Tony has the answer: Throw More Money at the Problem!

“Evers is proposing sending millions of dollars more to the state’s largest school districts to help reduce the massive gaps in academic achievement between the districts’ students of color and their white counterparts,” the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Walker should do what he has threatened: take over the Milwaukee schools.

Bonus Platinum Subscriber Blaska Blast :  if Scott Walker has an achilles heel, it’s the roads. But does anyone really think Tony Evers is going to be a road builder like Tommy Thompson was?

Bonus Blast : The City of Madison has something called an “equity coordinator.” Someone named Toriana Pettaway has the job. What does she do? The white lab coats here at the Policy Werkes do not know. But the lady is running for mayor. Given Madison’s obsession with identity politics, Toriana Pettaway could win.

Vote Pettaway. Allow the electorate to experience life under liberal delusions. Import even more ideological rot from Camaguey. Property is theft.

Milwaukee Public Schools and Administration has been in decline for decades as I have stated here many times. It is not because of school voucher program it is because in order to change things you would have to go against the union coffers that helped elect you. That will not happen. Only way to fix failing districts is to elect a true independent that will actually force finances to be audited and recommend hard hitting changes. This goes for all districts, unfortunately these elections are never held in the fall so we get low voter turn out elections of highly partisan administrators at the helm.
Keep pounding that square peg in round HOLE toxic Tony, I am sure you will get it to fit sometime. Meanwhile he has taken no extraordinary steps to help things at all.

Throw more money at things that always works. So far Evers want to reverse Act 10 to the tune of 5 to 8 billion dollars it will cost taxpayers which will go directly to teachers and administrators not to the kids. He wants to throw more money at a failed system without out extensive changes. He wants to just throw billions of dollars more in minuscule amount of roads the state actually is truly responsible to build and maintain. Remember county roads and streets are supposed to be paid for by the county collected taxes not state taxes. So if you drive on those roads and don’t like the quality call your alderman or county executive. See if you can pry away funding for fixing those, fat chance folks.

Once again, no mention of the parents of these feral teens. Why aren’t they being fined and/or threatened with imprisonment if they refuse to prevent their worthless offspring from continuing to perpetrate crimes? Why aren’t the victims of these crimes screaming bloody murder at their elected officials and demanding that the criminals be held accountable for their behavior, i.e., that the revolving door Chief Koval so bravely exposed be slammed shut once and for all?

That photo of Evers got me wondering what the Cap Times would be saying if he were a Republican candidate for anything. My guess is there would be a veritable tsunami of “old white guy” snarkiness. With that as the face of the Democrat party, Walker’s a shoo-in.

      @Gary L. Kriewald;

“what the Cap Times would be saying if he were a Republican candidate for anything.”

Something along the lines that he was the separated-at-birth-doppelgänger of the late, virulently hateful homophobe Reverend Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church.

Juuuuust one minor problem with that…Phelps was a card-carrying, dyed-in-the-wool, lifelong member of the democrat Party!

“Phelps ran for office several times for office as a Democrat, a fact that was unreported in every major media outlet.”

”He ran in five Democratic primaries in Kansas, including gubernatorial, U.S. Senate and mayoral races, but never won. He and his church supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic presidential primary.”

HATE and the democrat Party go together like Hope-n-Crosby!

Shoot; I’ve been called worse by better.

“How tough do think it would be to compile a list of nutjobs that run as members of the republic Party?”

Not tough at all, the Lefty media does all the legwork for you’s in order to account for Lefty’s intellectual laziness. They keep the truth about you’s own Lefty morons under close wraps, though.

Keep in mind, I was merely offering my humble opinion about @GLK’s query regarding how Evers would be being treated were he a Righty.

As a selfless courtesy, I then added a little color commentary about Phelps being a Lefty, which I’d bet even youse didn’t know.

Why? Because Lefty’s handlers knew/know it would give Lefties pause to think, an infinitely troublesome endeavor in the best of circumstances, ergo, why force them into unnatural discomfort?

How would youse rate yer contribution?

Life’s tough, it’s even tougher when you’s are a Lefty!

Now that you mention it, I do see the resemblance to Fred Phelps, but the photo of Evers reminds me of the alerts they put out when some befuddled senior wanders off from the nursing home.

It’s clear to me, a something which will soon be confirmed by Lefty INC, that these young children’s needs clearly aren’t being met.

Unless perhaps that need is to act like burgeoning thug POS miscreants focused on crafting their own pipeline to a life being wards of the state…State Pen, that is!

If he can't crank out rancid donuts at < minimum wage, many of the IQ-challenged will go without.
