Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Once again, the do-gooders screw it up for everyone else

The Isthmus Daily Page Forum has some interesting speculation on the shooting at WORT radio early Sunday AM (08-05-18), to the effect that it may be less Trump versus the news media and more a hip hop kind of thing.

No good deed goes unpunished

We saw that coming, didn’t we?

City, county and federal governments throw money at the homelessness problem: $20.6 million to build 105 housing units in two buildings. Make no pre-conditions for living in them. Don’t need to be clean and sober. No job? No problem. We’ll even get you some furniture.

Problems break out; stabbings at the single adult housing on Rethke Avenue, brawling at the family housing at 7933 Tree Lane. “People bring their problems with them,” yadda, yadda.

Visitors are blamed. Authorities impose rule to save the social experiment: restrict said visitors.

Police helped Maniaci beat Konkel in 2009

Self-appointed homeless advocate Brenda Konkel cries Discrimination! Maintains rules governing tenants of market-rate housing apply to government charity housing. Holds troublemakers who are obviously compromised and in need of major help cannot be treated any different from self-supporting taxpayers.

You may remember that Madame Brenda championed the bum encampment on E. Washington Ave., where now apartments rise high in the sky. Then there was Occupy Token Creek Park in the winter of 2013. As an alder, Brenda was responsible for the inclusionary zoning debacle that mandated cheap housing even in lakefront condos. She was so anti-cop that the Madison Police union bestirred itself to erect billboards in her isthmus district opposing her re-election. Now the lady is running for mayor! The woman who beat her for alder, Bridget Maniaci, may very well run herself.

The irony is that the social pests like Brenda Konkel — and the Emerald City is chockablock with them —  will do more to scuttle the Housing First experiment than all the Republicans in the State Capitol combined.

But Rudy got the numbers wrong!

News media coverage of Rudy Giuliani’s tweets on Chicago’s muderous mayhem focus on:

1) He got the number of homicides wrong (“Makes false claim about number of murders in Chicago.” — CBS News.)

2) He referred to the former police superintendent Garry McCarthy, who is challenging incumbent Mayor Rahm Emanuel, as “Jerry.”

This is why so many Americans no longer trust the mainstream news media. For missing the point!

Chicago HomicidesThe point is that between 3 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday morning, 12 people were killed and 62 others were wounded by gunfire in Chicago, Illinois. AND NO ONE HAS BEEN ARRESTED!

“Chicago murders are a direct result of one party Democratic rule for decades,” Giuliani tweeted on Monday.

That’s why the mainstream news media goes after Rudy Giuliani and not Rahm Emanuel. Rudy is a Republican and a Trump supporter. Emanuel is a Democrat and an old Obama hand. And because Giuliani cleaned up New York City with more police, lots of soap, and no liberal B.S.

We do give Mayor Emanuel some credit. The mayor eschewed blaming the city’s massive crime problem on hot summer weather or lack of jobs but, instead, on a “shortage of values.”

“There are too many guns on the street, too many people with criminal records on the street, and there is a shortage of values about what is right, what is wrong, was is acceptable, what is condoned and what is condemned.” — Rahm Emanuel.

The irony is that Madame Konkel’s kindred spirits, flying under the Freedom Inc. banner, demand police out of schools. Police aren’t starting the cafeteria brawls. They’re not disrupting classrooms. They’re not harassing parents who show up at school board meetings. They’re not littering the sidewalks with spent shell casings or jacking automobiles. No principal, no parent organization ever called for cops out of our schools. Nor has the NAACP or the Urban League!

Blaska’s Bottom LinePolice are not ruining Madison’s quality of life. That would be Madame Brenda and the social justice warriors of Freedom Inc.

C’mon, Dave. Why restrict your (all too accurate) broadsides against Brenda and her ilk to the rarefied confines of the Stately Manor blog? Think of the first-rate performance art that could be available to everyone in Madison if you ran for mayor and got to debate Madame B. and however many other liberal loons decide that Madison deserves their impeccable leadership skills. My checkbook is wide open (and believe me I don’t say that often).

As for the farce unfolding at Madison’s newest projects for the “homeless,” can take a pig out of his pigpen and put him in Buckingham Palace and he’ll still act like a pig (and so will his visitors). Madison liberals have a view of human nature that would make Mr. Rogers look like Himmler. Just put a drug-addled schizo who’s never held a job into an apartment (one far removed form the “nice” neighborhoods, of course) and he’ll magically become a model citizen. If it doesn’t work out that way, just consult your lengthy list of excuses for bad behavior by the “marginalized.”

The quality of life at these two subsidized housing units would gradually improve with the application of three strikes and your out. Out with the trouble makers and in with people who take advantage of the situation to improve their lives devoid of criminal behavior or connection. Wouldn’t take long for word to spread resulting in tenants disallowing the wrong kind of visitors.

They need community organizers to “take back the night” and report the bad actors without snitches getting stitches.

Madison liberals have been looking for something–anything–to name after the president before Trump. Here’s their golden opportunity: Obama Gardens on Tree Lane; Obama Terrace on Rethke Ave.

That’s odd, no BLM/Grievance Industry/Rent-Seeking Execs ginning up outrage by claiming racist White cops were gunning down Black children for no reason?

Apparently black lives don’t matter in Chicago and BLM and Freedom Inc can’t function without a rich vein of White Guilt, masocihsm and RAY-cism.
      Over to you, ABob.

74 people shot. I’ve always said that the numbers in a mass shooting usually don’t match up against a typical weekend in Chicago.
