Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Arrest the mother, too

There would be no demands for “cops out of our neighborhoods”
if there were parents IN those neighborhoods!

Ald. Skidmore tells me the police who investigated the incident have been traumatized.

They were called to the apartment in the 1700 block of Northport Drive about 2:55 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, for an infant who was injured.

“Brutalized” is more like it. Police found a 7-month old baby with two skull fractures, bleeding on the brain, swollen head, bruises to the face and eyes and — for bad measure — a large bite mark on his cheek. Doctors at UW Hospital found a liver laceration. The little fellow was in a coma.

He had been punched in the stomach. A baby.  Thrown against the wall, multiple times. Hard enough to leave marks on the wall. Hard enough to leave the baby’s hair embedded in one of the marks.

The court commissioner said the assailant “beat the hell” out of that baby, the WI State Journal reports.

James E. Johnson, age 19, is charged with first-degree reckless injury. He is the boy’s father and the mother’s “boyfriend.”Let’s not pussyfoot here, folks. The man is a seed donor who had his fun but won’t accept the responsibility — not of marriage nor of fatherhood.

Arrest the mother, the girl friend, the enabler

Arrest motherThere is reason why civilizations over the millennia — in every corner of the world — demanded commitment before sex. A wedding ring, something of value. Fathers giving away the bride after being convinced his daughter’s suitor could cherish his bride and provide for his family. You know, those middle class values that have stood civilization in such good steed, for so long. The kind of values that, in today’s supposedly enlightened society, get law professor Amy Wax in trouble for espousing.

We say: Arrest the mother for putting her child in harm’s way.  Charge her with being an accessory to the crime for debasing herself.

Should this 7-month old child survive, will he ever be the same?

How many other children have been traumatized?

This is why the whole Derail the Jail movement is a sick joke. The “school-to-prison pipeline” meme misses the point. There would be no demands for “cops out of our neighborhoods” if there were parents IN those neighborhoods.

Can we start teaching discipline and accountability in the schools? And staff the halls with MORE cops!

Speaking of parenting, from this Sunday’s cop blotter:

Saturday, 1:53 p.m., the Walgreens at 5702 Raymond Rd. A 5-year-old AAF walked into the store “half-dressed and with no apparent adult supervision.  Officers and staff stood by with the child for over an hour until an adult arrived and indicated that she was the child’s grandmother.  Apparently, grandmother and other adults in the home were sleeping when the child let herself out.  Child Protective Services (CPS) was contacted and will initiate an investigation on Monday.”

Everyone at the 5-year-old’s house is sleeping at one-thirty in the afternoon? Same neighborhood, early this Sunday morning (04—8-18).

Stolen Auto at 12:51 a.m.. Cop is alerted to a stolen auto on on Russett Road. Cop follows the car. “After a few turns, four juveniles exited the vehicle and fled.” Yep, the auto turned out stolen.

Ten minutes later, at 1:02 a.m.

“While investigating/recovering the stolen auto noted above, another call was broadcasted as a stolen auto from the Russett Road area.  Investigators believed it is possible that the same juveniles who had run from the first stolen auto recovery were responsible.  It is believed that another vehicle taken from the 5800 block of Russett Rd had been stolen by the same juveniles who subsequently had a minor crash and ran from this vehicle as well.”

Now it’s 1:53 a.m.

“While investigating a series of stolen autos in the West district, officers learned of yet another stolen auto. This time, the car was taken from the 6400 block of Bettys Lane.  The car had been left running while the owner had gone inside of their residence.  Again, investigation was developed to suggest that the same cadre of juveniles were responsible for taking this auto. … Investigation continuing.”

All this between 1 and 2 in the morning, at least four kids. Where are the parents? Arrest them. There are consequences for their lack of discipline.

Sure, social service the hell out of them. But start the process with a criminal arrest. Bring to a conviction. Finish off with a meaningful punishment. Because we need to get good and judgmental here and say, This Ain’t Right!

Oh, wait! Here’s a clue where those parents might have been:

It’s after bar time, 2 in the cold morning of Sunday, April 8. Police are called to Connections Bar, 3737 E Washington Ave. The tavern closes and everyone spilled out into the parking lot for a big brawl; at least 30 people are involved. Two women are injured. The fighting doesn’t stop until one of the brawlers pulls out a gun and fires, “causing everyone to flee.”

What you want to bet they don’t return home to do bed checks?

Why real fathers matter

Father hold sonA Manhattan Institute scholar wrote for the Atlantic magazine:

Throughout the first half of the 20th century, the large majority of black women were married before they had children. Black children were less likely than whites to grow up in two-parent homes, but only slightly so. It was only after 1960, even as more black men were finding jobs and even as legal discrimination was being dismantled with civil-rights legislation, that the family began to unravel. It was precisely that unexpected disconnect that spurred Daniel Patrick Moynihan to warn that “the cycle of poverty and disadvantage will continue to repeat itself” in his 1965 report.

Children suffer when their parents go to prison, he writes. Yet he says nothing about the suffering of black children growing up in chaotic families, though that suffering is itself highly correlated with the scourge of ghetto crime and incarceration.

72% of black children are born to unmarried mothers. The majority of those children will see contact with their fathers “drop sharply”; within a few years, about a third of dads will basically just disappear.

A study in the The Journal of Law and Economics finds a link between out-of-wedlock births and crime. (Source here.)

Why real fathers matter.

Allow me to augment the record with this verbatim entry from the Madison police log, describing a daytime brawl in southwest Madison. This occurred on or about the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Martin Luther King’s assassination. He was a Christian minister.

    4) WEST: Fight Call – 4:16 p.m. (April 4) An MPD officer observed a fight in progress on Frisch Rd. Several subjects were subsequently arrested/cited for resisting and disorderly conduct (all AAFs, ages 20, 19, 21 and 38). At least twenty female subjects were involved in the fight, which started after someone made some comments on social media that were offensive to some.

Consequences for lack of parental discipline!? You are still living in Madison, right? Where the idea of parents disciplining children is regarded as simply another form of child abuse. Where students–as long as they’re black or brown–are given a free pass to assault their teachers and create a classroom environment so toxic that serious students have no chance to learn. Where, in all the earnest discussions of educational policy reforms that cater to aggrieved minorities, one never hears the slightest peep about the role of parents. Where the horror of being called racist is so pervasive that educational “experts” do little besides tip-toe around the issue of why kids with parents like those described above have zero opportunity to succeed academically no matter how many expensive feel-good programs are implemented. You know, the same kind of programs that made the majority of black families so dysfunctional they’re producing kid who end up being neglected, abused, and groomed for failure.

What you subsidize you get more of. And require work for benefits as well as drug testing.
It is not a school to prison pipeline, is it.

One conclusion I reached while living in the ‘hood was that incentivizing people who’ve utterly failed at life to reproduce was a bad idea. These are not people whom bad things happen to, these are people that chase bad things like eight year olds chase the ice cream truck. While well meaning, many of our social policies simply perpetuate communities of failure. As far as I can tell, the only thing that will end the suck is making birth control mandatory for welfare recipients.

What do you want, Dave? Despite the over-heated rhetoric of some, there’s not much to disagree with here. Poor, young single mothers? Bad idea. A 19 year old severely beating an infant? Really bad.

No, I don’t have a prescription, because I don’t know enough about this sad situation. Charge the mother too? Is she culpable? Or is she also a victim – did he abuse her too? I don’t know. Do you?

        1. I don’t know if the POS abused the mother, as you suggest. If so, she should not have allowed the POS to stay alone with her child. Should have reported the bastard to police. Do you disagree?

No, I agree with you. But if it WAS a domestic abuse situation, it’s not uncommon for victims to have difficulty separating from the abuser, and that can lead to tragedy.

The process of social decay is not about to reverse.
    Disagree? Think about it again.

From what impetus will the percentage of single-mothers out of wedlock, REVERSE?

Consider the values of racial-subcultures. Drugs, lack of discipline and self-discipline; adoption and constant reification of gangsta violence that compliments illegal drug trade. Does anyone really believe this will change? [ far as I can tell, it is going the other way –everyone should carry Naloxone. Safe “needle exchanges” are now perceived as virtuous —NOT ].

Do some of you actually think the Second Coming will revolutionize sub-culture behavior?
Do any of you actually believe: “if only the right missionary force would visit Madison’s Southside, we would witness cultural change” ?

Wiki the ethnic blend of the HUMBOLDT, Saskatchewan community. Ya think they’re dealing with the same proportion of errant gunshots this month on a proportional basis as Dane County? Discounting weather, in what community would you want to raise and educate YOUR children?

Tis a simple fact of modern life: quality of social/community life is inversely proportional to the percentages of visible minorities in the the “community.”

Doubt that? Compare, by any criterion, the social fabric, crime, and quality of life indices of Humboldt to any Reserve in Canada. Compare to any major metro area in the US —Detroit, Philly, St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, etc.

Dispute fundamental social facts of contemporary urban geography, or any non-white homogeneous tribal enclave? Where are the drug problems? Where are the crime problems? Why are suicide rates in the richest Canadian Band so high?

Maybe if Madison Prep were allowed to be created in 2011 and managed by Urban League President Kaleem Caire this awful human would be taking advantage of all the programs to help get and pay for minorities in college or trades professions. Again, the liberals of Madison think tank always no better especially if it would have gone against the powerful teachers unions, who care more about kids and education than their own selves. The setting in Madison at that time was we have to protect Union members at all costs because Act 10 passage and failed lawsuits against it were the flavor of the day.

I will say Black Youth have a lack of real role models and a sense of real history of civil rights. Maybe a school for this young man may have helped him become an active citizen and not another lost soul in jail for life.

If I were a black child growing up in Madison or most of the U.S.A why would I ever trust a white man or woman. Their own democrat party made such huge promises to help but basically enslaved them again in endless cycles of poverty and despair.
50 years of war on poverty and despair and still poverty and despair are still winning.

if we only could give more to have people sit at home and breed and collect checks it would be Utopia

I read this twice and finally figured out what the author was getting at. 1. Bad people do bad things. 2. It’s all the fault of “liberal-progressive-socialist” nut-jobs; especially the ones who live in Dane Co. Your answer is always more cops, more jails. My question is who is going to pay for it? After cutting everyone’s taxes, big give away’s to business/donors, etc. we find out that the state can’t even handle the jails they have now. Clarke having people die in his jail from lack of water,, Lincoln Hills a mess, shortage of guards because of lousy pay, on and on. Walker and Ryan run around the country and raise millions of dollars; how about putting some of that effort in finding the money for cops and jails. How about a honest look at the people in office right now, rather than some obscure group of underground commies, meeting in beer houses.

    1. Who is going to pay for it? whines the guy who opposes drug testing for welfare benefits. Who opposes work requirements. Who demands More Free Stuff. Who blames racism (i.e., The Other) instead of demanding responsibility. Who wages war on the cops instead of the crooks? We’re not going to put this guy in prison because we can’t afford it? Seriously?!

So; who is going to pay for it Dave? You watched your jail and more cops go down the river with all the money walker gave Foxcon, all the loans that WEDC lost track off, all the trinkets the AG bought year after year, all the tax breaks people like Menard get. You want to drug test people; great. Do it. Didn’t work so well in Florida did it. You right-wingers have a bunch of good ideas; now find the money. Trump just signed an executive order today about work requirements for welfare folks, yet congress works 100 days a year. Ryan went to the europe on our dime and then waved to Wisconsin as he flew to Texas to beg for money for himself. You right wingers just cut taxes a ton and now you want more cops, a jail, fixed roads, etc. You find the money and I’ll be there with you when they cut the ribbon. You must be following trump’s business model; build it then stiff the contractors.

    Remember readers:

These are the “”people”” (tooth marks in babies) that Blaska, Kaleem Caire and maybe Turd Ferguson (? couldn’t tell if you were serious or trolling) think they can save with khakis, a polo shirt, and more of “dem programs.” Just like the poor pregnant woman gang raped by blacks in 2014 (http://www.wkow.com/story/24932697/2014/03/Monday/police-violent-home-invasion-one-of-worst-attacks-in-madison) could have been saved by khakis (snicker) and a polo (snicker snicker). And that guy whose lung filled with blood as he fought off two invaders to protect his wife and child (https://www.gofundme.com/warnsing) from two blacks that could have benefitted from some khakis and a polo.

We need to create a list of all of those that could have been saved by khakis, a polo shirt, and “dem programs.” That truly is all that is making us “”unequal.”” That is what is keeping you whites “swimming in the waters of white privilege.”

    Hilarious.

Looks like they are carrying the rest of the state even though they are all nothing but commie libs that are paying their taxes. Just think where we could be if the richest woman in the state and her friends paid more than zero in taxes. We could fill our pot-holes with gold.
