13 days since the last NFL player arrest
Good for Mike Pence. The vice president left the football game at Indianapolis after 20 San Francisco 49ers โtook a kneeโ during the National Anthem. Now if we get a few thousand more to do so.
Hereโs the gripe at the Stately Manor: the Colin Kaepernick Cop(ier)s are protesting โฆ what? Police treatment of black people in the U.S.!??? Didnโt some of those players go to college? Oh, wait, thatโs the problem! The result of gender and race studies, advanced degrees in victimization. They have bought into the Ferguson lie of โhands up, donโt shoot.โ
Theyโre protesting the wrong thing!ย
Of the seldom-questioned narrative that โblack men are constantly harassed by the police and routinely brutalized with impunity, even when they have done nothing wrong,โ Philippe LeMoine writes in National Review,ย โThis narrative is false.โ (The Policy Werkes gives chapter and verse here.)
If the millionaires in pads want to do some virtue signaling, how about protesting the wife beaters, dog fighters, child abusers, gun-waving coke heads, drunk drivers, and cheap-shot artists in their own ranks!
Fans in the cheap seats at the Stately Manor were thinking that as they witnessed Ezekiel Elliott of the CowFelons ply his trade despite the best efforts of the League to suspend the low-life for beating on a woman.
Chicago attorney and radio personality Julie DiCaro writes: โNot to be left out of this moral disaster, cue Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who notoriously signed Greg Hardy after he was found guilty by a North Carolina judge of beating his girlfriend, to declare the teamโs support for Elliott.”
After all, the league had recently fumbled the Josh Brown investigation badly, and was still smarting from a U.S. District Court ruling overturning their suspension of Adrian Peterson [who beat his own child].
Thatโs why the Policy Werkes has laid a direct cable to next yearโs likely Nobel Prize winner in science: the NFL Arrest-O-Meter.
This scientific device records that it has been 13 days since the last arrest of an NFL player. Good going, guys! On average, a pro football player is arrested every 7 days. So, this is encouraging. Trump should take credit!
Arrest Danny Trevathan for assault
The leading criminal in the 18 years covered by this metric is one Adam โPacmanโ Jones of the Cincinnati Bengals. Implicated in a strip club shooting, punched a woman outside of a bar, punched a cop and a whole buncha other stuff that had to be dropped due to uncooperative witnesses, blah blah blah. (Think they might have been bought off?)
This wonderful public service ranks the teams by criminal conduct. By this metric, the Minnesota Vikings lead the league in criminal activity. The Bears rank 10th, the Packers 16th in the 32-team NFL. (Ahead of Oakland and Dallas)?
Letโs close with Nancy Armour in USA Today, who wrote one year ago:
Thereโs not enough pink in the world to whitewash the NFLโs continued disregard for women. As the league plasters its fields with pink ribbons and decks its players out in pink cleats and pink towels this month in an effort to fool us into thinking it cares for the health of its female fans, its handling of Josh Brownโs suspension for domestic violence shows what a farce it all is.
“I became an abuser and hurt Molly physically, emotionally and verbally,โ the New York Giants kicker wrote in a March 2014 letter to family members and friends that was part of a trove of documents released Wednesday night to USA TODAY Sports, other news outlets and the NFL.
โI viewed myself as God basically and she was my slave.โ
Hey Cam Newton, imagine a woman writer! While weโre at it, arrest Danny Trevathan for assault and battery on Davante Adams on September 28 in Green Bay, WI. There were a couple million witnesses.

How much did that publicity stunt by Pence cost the taxpayers?? It was a transparently obvious set-up to get the base riled up. They even tipped their hand by warning the press that Pence would be leaving early. Having said that, I support legitimate peaceful protest even if it was obviously a low-brow stunt to score political points. But we the taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay for it. You “conservatives” should be incensed.

Fine, if that stunt was worth every penny, why not fund something beneficial to the masses rather than the political elite?? First pitch, fly-overs, walking out as a PR stunt, all a waste of $$ and time, regardless of which side does it. You folks are hypocrites of the first degree, and can only function in the echo chamber of the stately manor.

Unlike many folks today, I want to get a perspective from all sides. I may not agree often with many on this site, but it is always worth my time to get a bigger view of things. There is always two (or more) sides to every issue. While I wouldn’t want you, blaska or splat to marry my daughter, I’m always open to new thoughts and ideas.

Ballsy is frequently wrong but never in doubt. Thanks for the DNC talking points of the day. Yawn.
Mark my words, this kneeling during the anthem is going the way of banning the Pledge of Allegiance in Madison public schools some years back. Commissar Nichols went thru the classic Progressive Dance which is what will happen in the NFL.
1. This is Great! America at its best.
2, Whoa, no big thing. Nothing to see here.
3. Can we move on? Nothing happened. Really. Nothing at all.
Watch how patriotic Aaron Rogers gets after the November 12 NFL Boycott.
(For the daily schadenfreude, see how many empty seats there are at Levi’s Stadium when the Santa Clara Kaepernicks play.)

Would Baldy have supported Pres Obama stopping Air Force One in Wisconsin to support Tom Barrett in his hour of need? The answer will determine how much taxpayer money is cared about.

You bet, if we the taxpayers were footing the bill. My understanding is that political campaigning, even by POTUS and using AF1, is paid for by the party. Are you concerned about all the politiking the current occupant is doing using government time, staff and equipment???

A quick look on the net indicates that trump was at political meetings/rallies on the following days: Jan. 26, Feb. 3-6, 17-20, 24, Mar. 15, 20, 25, April 18, 28, 29, 30. I saw no need to go further to prove the point. Even you could look that stuff up and satisfy your curiosity.

Once again David Blaska has his fingers on the pulse of America and got it right again. It’s the wrong reason, the wrong time and the wrong country to show such disrespect of a country and law enforcement. The NFL and players will go down in history on the wrong side. The penalty flags are already dropping. No wonder so many players hate cops! Look at all those arrests. We need the NFL and players to lead the way out of this lose/lose situation and, find more positive ways to support country and law enforcement and bring everyone together as only they can. .Only they can turn a lose/lose into a win/win for everyone.

I hope you are just as disgusted by the actions of noted conservative celebs like Kid Rock and Ted Nugent. Or is it OK for them to disrespect the flag in the name of conservatism?

When you hear, “It’s not about….”
It is.
We’ve recently heard, “It’s not about, the anthem, the flag, cops, the country….
But it is.
Next, when they stop protesting we’ll hear,
“it’s not about the lost revenue.”

Add Eminem to the long list of people on the left who disrespect.
It seems that Mr Trump has been very effective in getting the NFL to do what he wants, eh? Chalk one victory in the culture war to the right that hasn’t happened in …. like forever.
While I respect Mr Schneider and Mr Sykes, this constant whining and complaining about Trump not being a true Conservative Inc. member, can you imagine a President Kasich or Jeb Bush not caving to the pressure to stand down in the culture war battle? HE FIGHTS – well, hell yeah, he does!
Conservatives won’t admit to liking HOW Trump does what he does, but I think they are beginning to like WHAT he does. And that will matter at the ballot box if he’s still around in 2020.

Just so we all understand what trump HAS done, please expound on:
The border wall paid for by Mexico – nope haven’t done that
Repeal and replace ACA – nope, didn’t get that done
Tax reform – maybe next week
Eliminate ISIS in two weeks – sorry, have a golf date
etc.
What he has done is remain <50% approval rating for his entire chaotic term.

Baldy, please explain how/why you trust the same polling outlets that said Hillary Clinton would win the election. Trump would win again if the election were held today and might pick up Minnesota.
If it was up to Trump, he would have had all the above done, but he has to depend on Congress to get things done. You know, that constitutional thing that Obama went around with his pen and phone – otherwise, he would never have done anything that he wanted after 2010. Trump has been systematically dismantling Obama’s legacy with his…wait for it… executive orders!
For legislation, if you don’t have complete support from your own party and some peacocks that like to strut their stuff and be patted on the back, then you aren’t going to get anything done. One thing about Dems is that they don’t break their caucus on the votes that matter – Repubs do all of the time for principle, or whatever. See the budget impasse here in Wisconsin on a more local scale.
2018 elections will tell the tale if the American voters want the Trump agenda as you can expect quite a few incumbents to be primaried.

OB is long on conventional but short on wisdom.
In President Trumps first six months he has Gorsuch on the Supremes.
75% drop in illegal immigration.
Deportation of Mexican rapists underway.
Sanctuary cities brought to heel in Miami, Charlotte et al.
Consumer confidence at an all time high.
NATO paying their own way.
Dismantling the incumbents in the Republican establishment by way of draining half the swamp.
Dozens of Obama red tape regs thrown out.
No men in the ladies room.
He trolls the media with a tweet, they troll the credulous libs whose hair spontaneously bursts into flame….. day after day. Their hysteria, my hysterical.
Shows the media/Democratic complex to be corrupt, incestuous and incompetent… day after day.
Yesterday he fought a battle in the culture war to a clear and total victory over BLM, Roger Gooddell and all the SJWs and feminist lawyers out to ruin football.
Pinned Putin’s ears back by taking out 20% of Assad’s air force. No gas attacks since that red line.
Gotten China to crack down on Kim Un’s pissant economy.
President Trump is apparently not tired of winning and his chaotic opponents are busy with Hillary denouncing Harvey Pervstein for what Hillary has forgiven in her husband time after time after time.
Delicious irony.
